Shy guys can make the best boyfriends. They’re often more caring, gentle, and sensitive than your average guy. But there’s a problem. How can you tell if they like you?

The truth is, men aren’t that complicated and shy men are really no different. The main difference is that they’re trying to hide their feelings from you, and they can be pretty good at it.

First off you have to make sure he is in fact, shy, rather than just uninterested. The good thing is that, while he’d probably prefer to be invisible, the truth is the Shy Guy is actually quite easy to spot. He’s often described as “mysterious” because he doesn’t share much information about himself unprompted. He’s an introvert and keeps to himself. He doesn’t have a lot to say but when he does, it’s surprisingly interesting and deep.

A word of warning about shy guys, they don’t always fit the typical bookish, nerd stereotype. While some do act that way, there are plenty of shy guys who are more jocks or clean cut so don’t jump to conclusions that he isn’t shy because he likes sports. Plus, there are plenty of guys who are only shy around the girls they like. This can make diagnosing a shy guy really difficult but keep watching and it’ll all become clear.

So how can you tell if your shy guy likes you? The shy guy shows his interest a little bit differently than his more outgoing counterpart.

Sign number one: He’s nervous around you

From afar, he looks serene and cool but when you talk one on one, he might get tongue tied, red faced and be unable to get a sentence out. Don’t worry, this is a sign that he really likes you! So much in fact that he’s worried about making a bad impression. This will go away once the two of you get better acquainted and you’ll see that he actually has a lot to say.

Sign number two: He looks at you

If he sneaks glances in your direction but quickly looks away, then that’s a sure sign that he likes you. This means he’s thinking about you and is attracted to you but is struggling to make his move. It can be a little unnerving but just know that it’s a great sign for things moving forward.

Sign 3: He’s better at texting than talking in person
This is classic shy guy move. He can’t talk to you one on one but over text he’s a chatterbox. This is because he has a chance to think over his message and get it right, so he prefers it over talking face to face. An especially good sign is if he reaches out to you even if he has nothing to talk about. He’s looking for the flimsiest excuse to text you because he’s trying to get up the nerve to ask you out. I think it’s sweet.

A shy guy that likes you might be good at hiding his feelings from you but his friends are going to find him out and they will take that opportunity to tease him and embarrass him in front of you.

12# He seems annoyed when you talk to other guys.
Shy guys have a hard time trusting others so when you spend time with him your bond is special to him. When you talk with other guys he might try to distance himself to avoid being hurt.

13# You might catch him adjusting his clothes.
You might think only girls want to look good in front of there crush but shy guys do too. So if you see him straitening his shirt or coaming his fingers threw his hair, know that he is trying to make himself look cute for you.

14# He has a go with the flow attitude with you.
A shy guy that likes you will not try to stop you at all if you make any kind of advances on him. He's going to be happy to go along with it, he's totally fin with it, he allows it to happen and he's actually happy that it's happening because you are involved.

15# He dose not tell you who he likes.
If you ask a shy guy "who do you like?" And he gets this "oh shit" look on his face and says something along the lines of "oh... um... I don't really like anyone." It means you are the one that makes his heart flutter.

16# He comforts you.
Maybe your dog died or maybe you had a really bad day. Whatever the case might be if you cry or look like you might cry, the shy guy that likes you is not going to be happy about it he's going to feel sorry for you too. But he is going to be quick to hug you so you can cry on him and tell you to let it all out. Believe me the shy guy that likes you is not going to want to see you suffer and he will be quick to comfort you because shy guys know how important emotional support is.

It's funny I actually had a dream about something similar...a shy guy had a crush on me. Soooo he sent his friend, to tell me he wanted to talk to me. Then when we both talked it was very hard for him to look at me.

I haven't started talking via texts with this shy guy yet but we take salsa and bachata lessons together at uni. After the lesson he asked me if I could stay to practise some more and if we could arrange another day for practise. I found my chance and asked his insta. Next lesson he just said the same thing practise after lesson and some other day. again I said yes. that day I also asked him if he could stay for lunch but he couldn't sad. but next lesson we practised and he asked me if I was gonna stay for lunch and we ate together kinda studied together too and we spend let's say 3 hours together hanging out.
This brings us to today's lesson while we practised he kissed my hand when I looked stressed for missing steps and we laughed. After we sat on a bench and I asked him whether he liked sushi. He said very much so I asked if he would like to join me for sushi since I won a giveaway for a meal and drinks for two.
But he replied are you asking me out? of course I panicked he was obviously a bit shocked idk what I said probably something like yeee. Then he asks again are you sure? don't you wanna go with your friends? and i say I could but I asked you. I started panicking even more so I asked if he didn't want to and it's fine but he said no no it's fine I was just never asked that before and I said I never asked someone either. And he kissed my hand again while he was leaving to calm me down I think I might.
