Simple Gearing Guide at Level 80 in SWTOR

Let's talk about gearing in SWTOR in level 80 for only 4 minutes! zoom zoom!

Tips:

- As soon as you hit level 80, pick up the Legendary Implants quest and work on completing it
- At level 80, complete personal Conquest and earn 200 Medals of Commendations
- Use your Medals of Commendations to buy a full set of basic green 320 Conquest gear, no matter what gearing path you want to take
- If you are a solo player, you will gear up through completing Conquest on 1-5 characters per week and running the weekly rotating Heroics/Daily planets to earn the currency to upgrade your gear
- If you are an experienced player who wants to do group content, jump right into Master Mode Flashpoints, you’ll mainly be gearing through the repeatable Master Mode Flashpoint weekly box via the groupfinder, but you’ll also need to do Heroics/Dailies to get upgrade currency.
- Galactic Starfighter is currently the fastest way to gear up, and gearing up through PvP is also a valid way to gear up.
- Most boxes from the weeklies of all types give a guaranteed upgrade based on your lowest item-rating slot, so hold on to gear you get in-case you can upgrade it higher before you open boxes from harder content.

personally i think they will be getting quite a lot of feedback about how this new system feels bad, myself i think their old system was one of the fairest gearing systems ive seen in gaming and i think this new system is more about keeping people subbed than making the players feel like their having fun.

I enjoy the leveling process running the side quests and occasionally Flashpoints. With the new system I may just quit at 80 and start new characters

Is there any chance for a new Light side and Dark Side points video?
I'm trying to play a Grey or Natural alignment, but after the class story the decisions that grant darkside points end up becoming, "Would you like to commit genocide? Yes [Dark Side] or No [Light Side]". Where as previously you could just hurt and kill enemies one by one. So I need a way to farm Darkside points at this stage.

How I'm approaching this is I'm currently focusing on gearing my basic green to 326. I already have my 326 legendary implants and by chance drops in FPs, I got some 320 blue gear. Once I get ALL my current gear to 326, I'm going to attempt MM FPs to get all blue gear and I may look at investing in mods to tick those tertiary stats. I'm not too invested in 330 and I pretty much bombed through the Manaan and Elom story on 320 basic green at Lv 80. When you break it down and know what you want, the gearing system isn't terrible. Yes, it's a grind, but I don't find it terrible when you know what currency you specifically need.
Since I focus solely on FPs, what I need to maintain are those blasted Decurion Isotope Stabilisers and the Aquatic Matrixes lol. 6.X gearing was all well and good, but holy hell, RNGesus can be a pain sometimes. I'd be 306, run a vet FP, but my shittiest run dropped 302-305 gear lmao

Is there a video that explains how gearing should be like when you're playing as a f2p solo player? I'm currently capped at lvl 60, and I'm not sure if I plan on going further than that at the moment, but I do want to get my gearing as high as possible given the level I'm currently stuck at. Any help or direction would be great.

I have some silly questions for the level 80 gearing guide. 1 - is it important to keep that FIRST blue 320 earpiece, or can it be done with any other blue 320 earpiece? I kept them all together and am unsure of which was the first. 2 - Can we hand IN that legendary implants quest before doing all the blue 330 deconstruction etc, or when do we hand that in after the 100 points?

I've started playing this game for the first time a couple weeks but trying to do this all this just for gear. I'm OK just sticking with Flashpoints honestly, doing all this is just a pain.

So this person in my guild decided to help me with some heroic missions and he was basically 3 shotting every mob while I was still struggling to do damage. Was he max gear level or close to it? Is the damage output just that insane?

Just a heads up dont bother to pvp until they fix the bolster, 326 augmented pvp gear gives less stats than 306

I really hate how they dumbed down this game in 7.0. The game was near perfection (the only thing I would have liked to see is the ability to change classes), they messed with a good thing.

Not only that but the amount of bugs added (not being able to unify my companions colors really makes me mad) and the short and weak dlc story (that I can't even finish because Malgus is bugged) just make this a fail all around. I am so disappointed. 😠
