Good advice, last year I had a deer snort very close to me and thought I'd been busted, so frustrated I got out the blind only to see a doe standing 30 yards behind me, she was trying to scare off one of my hitlist bucks, oh he's bigger this year.

I think you need to define grunt, snort and blow. When a deer blows I don’t consider that a snort. A blow is WARNING. I’ve never seen a buck chasing a doe while blowing. Thanks for your tips. Happy Trails

The deer are used to us being in the woods all year long, they watch me chainsawing from 20 yards away. During hunting season they smell me and blow then 1 minute later they come back or different ones come in.

Are you meaning when a deer blows? When I think snort, I was thinking a buck grunt sound. You even make a call called a "Snort wheeze". Which is a buck grunt combined with a wheeze sound. Completely different from a deer blowing in alarm.

I didn't think she busted me, but she was so loud. Then I saw at least 2 deer chasing her 1 was definitely a buck, and I didn't get much of a look at the other one.
