I am grateful for you Pema Chodron, my respect and love for you just arrived one day several years ago after my sister passed on to her next journey. I have lost my older sister strangely and unexpectedly in recent times, your wisdom is again and has been constantly a lovely, useful way for me to approach all the feelings around loss and survival . I gush because what I really wish I could do is just hug you and thank you and make tea, or food to give you something back. I have you in my thoughts and wishes . You are the most important stranger I have ever known. May you have love and peace in your soul in all your journeys.

"Just feel the rage, feel the shame, feel the guilt, feel the remorse, feel the resentment, feel the heat - feel the fire - just as it is. Just as it is. Just as it is - not escalating further, not repressing, not turning it into something hard...".

I came here today bc I feel harshly judged and shunned by a neighbour who has judged and shunned me without getting to know me, for literally years! (She’s moving away soon and I’m finding myself also looking forward to that!) .
After encountering her a couple of hours ago I felt so much resentment and even hatred towards her!
So I came to Pema to review her way of thinking

helpful!

This is one of the most powerful meditation techniques, that I have tried. "You need to feel it, if u want to heal it" and this mediation has helped me out immensely.

❤ Pema Chodron. She knows how to teach. I think it's because she previously lived the typical human life, she's been a wife, is a mother, a grandmother. She's experienced what most of us experience (family life) and thus can teach straight to us in a relatable manner, more so than a celibate monk can. I do greatly appreciate and value the teachings of the celibate monks such as Thich Nhat Hanh and the Dalai Lama, but Pema really gets to the point and I think it's because she really understands because she has the experience.

I can connect when her past experiences of "pain...shame...rage" when she utters the words. She's not speaking on an abstract of detached level. She's walking us through it as she is waking herself back through it???

I watch this video and 6 things arise in me:

1) how to escape from pain in the body?
I get cramps that debilitate and paralyze me.
what to do?
is there a metaphysical explanation?

2) I love someone
who I don't believe loves me back...
this, sadly, has been the story of my entire life.
the pain is so awful, it's soul-crushing.

3) rage. I have so much fucking rage in me.
I am constantly flooded with memories that rape me,
and fill me with rage.

4) grief: 999 trillion layers of grief in me.
there's no escape.

5) sometimes I look in the mirror and I am in love with what I see.
other times, I am disgusted.
I am old, ugly, fat, frumpty-dumpty.

6) I am so very very very ashamed at the state of my life...

i sometimes get lost in chaos of my mind. cannot always figure out why i feel certain ways...allowing myself to cry and feel angry or whatever the feelings are and having compassion for myself and seeing my moods as clouds blowing in the sky helps me...and then the "witness" inside me notices there is more to me than my moods. is that my soul? or my wisemind ? not sure but it helps me feel safer within myself.

Seeds will not grow on stony ground or barren soil. What hope then for a harvest?

Hi Omega. Can I use this video for explaining emotional release work on my channel? This is very good and a much needed point of view and a kind method of relating to emotions. Thanks..
