The 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China is currently taking place and Dongsheng will be publishing a series of videos in order to better understand this political event.
China is at the center of the world’s economy and geopolitics, however little is known about its internal politics.
So, what is China’s political system? Is it really a dictatorship like the Western media claims?

Thank you. This has been one of the most detailed & precised breakdown of China's political system.

Best way of understanding it in a single sentence:

In the US, you can change the party but not the policies; in China, you can't change the party, but you can change the policies.

I know which I'd rather have.

We need more of this information. I'm a lay person and the Chinese system of governance has always been obscure to me. Maybe it's the language; I found the comparative western labels for the hierarchy helpful. China could do more to help us uninformed!

I only focus on whether a government serves the majority of the people. If a government only serves a minority of capital, what is the use of such democracy?

in order to get the top of the state, you need to work your way up, in other words you get promoted, not elected, this is kind of tradition in china where we believed that only can you know how to operate from the bottom knows how to run at the top, we have an old saying: how can you run the world without knowing how to manage your house, reflex one of the confucianism philosophy that is the achieving of great thing start from achieving every little thing at the base level bit by bit. So you will find in China history most of the great chancellor who directly under the king or emperor started from running a vallege or a county.

This is a GREAT video explaining clearly and with a degree of detail, the structure of the Chinese government. What is really good about this video is that it is read by a real human person with very clear, good diction. Unfortunately, there are some good videos on YT in English that shows China’s progress in technology, etc but are read by AI. It féministes the credibility of these videos. More excellent quality videos like these need to be produced to debunk biased, anti-China narratives and geo-political questions people have about China. China’s internal social and economic issues should also be addressed honestly and factually. In this video, the simple and honest statement about the CPC being “not perfect” is an HONEST statement that viewers can accept, because ALL forms of government and types of democracy are not perfect. There is no “perfect” country and we ALL know this. So there is no need to pretend to have one. North Korea pretends to be “perfect”, but it has no credibility with most people. Could you please make a video about an issue the Western media has started asserting. It’s about Chinese cities running out of money because of Covid spending and the cutting of pension funds because of it. I’m glad I found your channel. 👍👍😍

Thank you for this great explanation! I love how it takes decades of experience to get to a high position. Politicians in the UK are generally so unqualified and unfit to lead anything...

Very insightful, thank you!

also, minor correction at 4:00, if Vietnam is 98 million and 16th, Iran is 88 million and 17th, the CCP being 96 million would replace Iran as 17th.
