Literally the best, non-biased video on China's government is made by a dude with 28 subscribers. Cheers man!

The reason the Party is so powerful is actually very simple to explain: It's supposed to guarantee civilian control over every area of China's government. Anyone who is familiar with China's history is aware of the constant military coups and Imperial back-stabbing that was a regular occurrence, on top of the almost cyclical famines that would ravage the country. Above all else, the Party's obsession with control is due to it's belief in stability at all costs, i.e. no more chaotic dynasties like the old days.

Now, whether or not you believe the Party actually enacts this ideal in practice is obviously up to debate.

You did an exceptional job. We need a longer version of this video, world needs to know how the second most powerful country in this world works.

This video is really informative. I study Chinastudies and I have watched almost all short video's on China's government on youtube that I could find. In my opinion you get to the bottom of it really effective without leaving out important aspects. Nice job.

Good video. China is the most successful authoritarian country in the world, lasting longer than the Soviet Union.
It is the only authoritarian country in the world that remains open to the outside world, maintains a certain market economy, and maintains a certain number of middle classes that can survive. This is worth analyzing and learning.

This is the best, very well explained, yet brief video of the structure, powers, and responsibilities of the Government of China, the Communist Party, and their various major branches and most important sub-branches.

I am creating trying to create videos covering similar topics you have put here. I think I have searched youtube and only found yours to even scratch the surfaces of topics I want to create. And I admire your work. I was wondering if it would be possible to reach out to you further, and see what might be some possibilities to work something out? I'm thinking of creating videos on the government structure, the military structure, the party structure, the organization department, and the road to becoming the president....(I got the idea from cpgrey on how to become the pope)

Hey! Thanks for this useful info. Can I re-use this information (for an essay), and do I need to refer to Black Dragon River if I do?

This isn't very different from the American system, we're either just used to it or it's obfuscated.

I'm really hoping that China will stick to their promises and adopt a truly left-wing system once they reach a further point in their development, but I'm not the biggest fan of the way their government is organized, and it's making me a bit more pessimistic.

This is wrong though. Their CENTRAL committee is the main body. They do have other political groups too. The idea that the secretary has more power than the Central Committe representative is false. Propaganda for sure.
