Russell Laiosa, 55, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes after stealing a tow truck in Brooklyn on September 6, 2024:
Robbery
Grand larceny auto
Reckless endangerment
Leaving the scene of an accident
11 counts of property damage

The incident began when Laiosa's truck was being removed by a tow truck. After a physical altercation with the tow truck driver, Laiosa stole the truck with his own vehicle still attached. He then drove the truck down 53rd Street, hitting multiple cars and a city bus, before abandoning the truck and fleeing on foot. The incident was captured on video and went viral
