Hello all, in this video I show the process of working with the 3D model to split up into layers and machining it on the CNC as well as assembly.

Nate, I don't know if you are already aware of it but there exists a product often called "toolingboard" which is somewhat similar to your EPS insulation panels but harder and denser and very sandable and you can make (autoclave compatible) plugs from it, or directly machine molds. It's a lot more expensive but apart from a bit of sanding and lacquering, you can skip a lot of process steps to making composite body panels

I have hand carved a few quarter and eighth scale cars out of the ultra hard Chavant clay and each has taken several hundred hours, lots of research and accurate eye-balling. This punching buttons to get the desired result is wonderful, but I wouldn't trade the satisfaction I've received from the hand work for anything.

Your knowledge and skill level are light years beyond my comprehension, lol!
However, I'm so intrigued that I can't stop watching.
In fact, I subscribed.
I've made car and boat parts back in the 80's by sanding and sculpting varied materials but your system is no comparison in speed and accuracy. I'm totally impressed. I don't know where you're located but I'd love to see your setup in action.

Nice work! I'd love to see some detail on how you went from the Rhino model to CAM.

Nice! Will you be doing a follow up video on the finishing of it?

Can you do the first routing with high offset. By this i mean can you route everything too small first. Then add some kind of bondo/clay without removing the parts from cnc and then machine the parts to exact mesurement. Just thinking if it would produce smooth surface ready for final sand and paint? What do you think?

thanks for making these clear video! As you has nice machine and skills it could be usefull to use lab, or acrylic putty on rough mill to gain a lot of time if smooth surface is needed to paint, and or mak a mold of it. but sure you know this. your price is very cool, here in France only I found was more expensive with a big 20mm ball mill that don't give details. If I wanted smaller mill, price was 2x more because of time...

Looks nice.👍I like this subject matter and I’m glad to see that there is someone here on YouTube that has been making videos about it. That being said, I really haven’t been a big fan of your videos though. This one has been the best so far.👍😀👍

That’s so cool. Can you use other foam for a cleaner cut & finish? Is that the pricing starting at a 1/4” scale?

Outstanding work. If you don't mind me asking, approximately how much does it cost to have something like this built? In the exact same unfinished condition as the video.

Where do you get your models and how do you slice them up? Would be awesome if you did it in Fusion 360!

Hey there. Did you make the 3d model with rhino or you just imported it from other cad software?
