How can you fix the health problem in the simple version you made?

I am currently trying to fix the negative damage problem so that it stops adding on to the HP. I tried assigning the enemy attack as 0 if the attack has reached below zero. However, it does not seem to work as it keeps giving me an error about the enemy attack being referenced before already. Is there any ways to fix this or is the only way to fix this by changing up the defence?
