When a loved one suffers from Alzheimer's Disease, we often don't "recognize" them anymore. Are they the same people we once knew? In this talk, Herman explores the evolving identities of patients, through the eyes of an artist.

Herman van Hoogdalem studied visual art at Minerva Art Academy, Groningen The Netherlands. In 2011 he started portraying people living with Alzheimer's Disease. Currently he is working in a elderly home on the project " I spy with my little eye", where art students and students of social studies are working together to find an answer on the following question: What is portraying?
