No anakin wasn't weak. He was the chosen 1 who brought balance to the force. He was confused with the lies that the emperor told him. He didn't ask for help except from Yoda. If he talked to Obi-Wan and didn't spend his time with the emperor it would change everything.

I honestly love the psychology of Anakin/Darth Vader especially since it was Vader who ruined Anakins life but since his character has either bipolar or multiple personality disorder(I forget which) it just makes the story more interesting

Anyone who knew anakin would assume him dead during order 66. There were no witnesses left when Mace Windu was killed and Anakin turned to the dark side. Also after his defeat on mustafar, he was unrecognisable from his burns and would wear his suit for the rest of his life. It really was as though Anakin had completely disappeared. Only the small embers of his former self would be reignited once meeting his own blood for the first time through Luke..
