Jonah if was in a fish or a "whale" he would have been dead in 5 minutes due to lack of oxygen.

In my opinion and I am very comfortable being wrong...The stories like this are parables and people take them seriously and rewrite the stories and it gets more fantasy as we go along. Like take the story of Jericho for example. The bible says that the army marched around the city for 7 days and on the last day they blew their horns and the city walls fell...people actually believe the walls magically fell down...no...A horn was blown and they took their ladders and assaulted the city and in battle, when you hear the walls have fallen, it means the attackers have gotten through the walls and are now attacking the city within the walls...
