This to me was the saddest part of the movie when you realize Mel is dying and about to pitch the last inning of his life. Makes the whole scene that more dramatic.

"We expect great things from you, kid."
And he's accomplished great things as an actor of many roles...not to mention a lip sync king.

My father passed from cancer and was a baseball fan, which he passed on to my son. My parents gave my son a VHS copy of this movie before Dad passed in 1995. I like to think "he's always watching" just like AL.

This part gets me so hard but Christopher Lloyd reminds me that it’s okay and our loved ones will become angels and will be taken care of ♥️

JGL giving that sad look after he looks at Mel is just amazing. Crazy how good he was even early on

Reboot Roger as the manager, Mel as the Angel and Knox giving the inspiration talk that makes Roger believe again

This was one of my favorite childhood movies. Still is. This scene makes me tear up and hits so differently as an adult, especially when you’ve lost five family members in one year, some very unexpectedly. Al’s words are such a great reminder that our loved ones are residing among the angels in glory beyond what our human minds can comprehend. ❤️👼🏼❤️

Even though you can't see us, we're always watching...

Words to remember about the people you've loved and lost over the years...

Don't you worry, he's well taken care of. You concentrate on your own life now. We expect great things from you, kid. We'll all be watching. Remember that. Even though you can't see us, we're always watching.

Al's line from 0:26 - 0:43 hit me hard because I've been smoking for 12 years. Not proud of it, definitely wished I never started. It's really hard to quit, but I'm going to try harder to quit.

My dad passed away in from Lung Cancer in 2015. The line from Christopher Lloyd gets me. I miss my father and know he is in heaven.

I cried even as a kid but now it means more… if you’ve lost someone just know they are all together with my sister in the outfield

This scene makes me tear up every time, idk why maybe because I’m afraid of losing the ones closest to me. I hate death

This part made me sad when I saw this in the theater as a kid. I was blown away, I was like “That’s why the Angels were there all along.”

Imagine being a starting pitcher pitching in game 7 of the World Series, not realizing you have six months left to live.

Yeah, Houston! Championships have to be won on their own. It's a rule!
