I think even as a kid the reason this got me to tear up was because it was like giving Mel one last glorifying moment before cancer took him. Bittersweet.

Even after 28 years, this movie has lost NONE of its magic. I love this movie but even better than that is that I have gotten to share the experience with my boys.

He's wrong though, there was an angel on that mound, and with that last pitch and catch, he earned his wings.

I always loved how the music was so dramatic and suspenseful before Mel pitches, and then it's just a simple piano sound as the ball travels. Beautiful scene and movie!

Joseph Gordon Levitt, Matthew McConaughey, Adrien Brody, and Neal McDonough. Love seeing the early beginnings of who are now very prominent actors.

Is it just me or is Ranch Wilder getting fired just as satisfying as the Angels winning! Jay O. Sanders plays a great doushbag, great actor!

The White Sox batter is none other than former 80’s star player Carney Lansford. He played for the California Angels from 1978-1980.

Most touching part of this scene has to be clark saying “angels are real”.. not this time mel you did yourself

It's crazy to me that this movie's not on Disney +. This is such a classic.

I was fortunate enough to meet Christopher Lloyd at Comicon in San Jose this year (2022). I have an autographed picture of him from this movie. There are several scenes in this movie that made me tear up, 2 scenes in particular were the one where AL checks up on Mel because of his cancer and will soon be joining them. The other is this scene, they end up winning the game all on their own and Mel ends his career with The Penant. There is one quote in particular that has always stuck with me, when AL says, “Even if you can’t see us, we’re always watching”. Gets me every time.

00:37 I love how it just goes silent with the final pitch and when the soft piano notes play when he throws the ball. Makes the moment a bit suspenseful

is it weird that I get teary-eyed watching this part of the movie? The suspense, music, and the outcome of that final play hits

Knox's character development from angry coach to someone to admire and look up to is something to behold.

Clark: There ARE angels!
Knox: Not this time, Mel, YOU DID IT YOURSELF!

Saying that Mel was going to die soon, made this scene extremely powerful

Main lesson of the movie: “Always have faith!”

*Ranch Wilder:* _[takes off headphones in disbelief that the Angels won the pennant]_ I can't believe it. @ 1:49-1:53
*Hank Murphy:* _[walks in]_ Ranch? _[Ranch turns around, smiling innocently. However, Murphy doesn't buy it after hearing the snide comments he made of Knox and his team]_ You're fired. @ 1:53-1:56
*Ranch Wilder:* _[furious after Murphy leaves]_ You can't fire me! I got a contract! *_I'm Ranch Wilder!_* @ 1:56-2:03
*Wally:* _[cheerfully turns off Ranch's broadcast dial]_ Easy, Ranch. Less is more. _[He flips the broadcast dial, then speaks]_ ..And the Angels Have Won It. @ 2:03-2:09
