What I love about this movie is that even though the plot hinges around angels and miracles, it's never preachy. It's not about being given a win because you believe in a higher power, but about believing in yourself and your team. The angels gave the players the confidence to win on their own. That's why they didn't show up at the final game. And when Mel Clark needed a little bit of a boost at the end, the entire stadium had his back.
