At the time of this talk, I think Fr. Pine was ill. But, he still carried on. Praise to God!

Keep in mind that these principles are effective only within genuine, natural relationships. You can't force someone to genuinely care for another person; it has to come from the heart." it has to be authentic.

When I'm sick I ask my wife for soup and sit in bed. When Fr. Pine is sick he gives a fully captivating talk full of potentially life changing advice on the topic of friendship. 😅

9:23 constantly denying myself out of love for the other is partly why I was emotionally abused by exes, bosses and priests...

I like this talk, learned from it. BUT! Fr.Pine did express the expression of interest, why I do also acknowledge to be very important to a friendship, but what happens when your interest are not so common, when your not particularly funny or “fun” to hang out with? Personally, it has been difficult for me to enter into a relationship with someone. How can I enitiate a true friendship based on love, and not just the material interests of the other?

I disagree. Many people are type B
