I first planted garlic in the fall of 2013. It was a huge success for a first timer! The harvested garlic bulbs were huge. I proudly gave some to my family and friends with a tag “proudly grown by me”. Plus, I discovered that your garden grown garlics are the best compared to store bought. From then on, I have been growing garlics every year.

Anyone else greatly enjoy listening to Kevin go Mama Bear on anything willing to mess with his garlic babies? <3

I planted lots of garlic for the first time last fall. They survived the week of severe frost and are starting to grow again, after not growing much throughout the winter. Wishing good garlic harvests on us all :)

I have successfully grown garlic for more than 50 years. I always plant on the shortest day of the year and harvest on the longest day of the year. The varieties make no difference to this technique. Thanks for your entertaining (we want big bulbs) video.

Better to be a garlic “single dad” than a garlic “baby daddy.” Indeed - keep on growing (parenting)! 🧄🌱💫

Yellow tips can be a sign of sulfur or nitrogen deficiency. Overwatering can also be a cause.
A manure/compost mix prevents needing to add fertilizer.
When bulbing start add a couple handfuls of bonemeal.
Put ~1.5" hardware cloth over your garlic bed soil to protect it from pests bigger than a mouse.

Also as the garlic matures it will send up a center stalk with a flower/seed pod on top, called a chance. I remove these prior to seed production and make a nice garlic pesto. Dig up your bulbs a month after you remove the chances. You can leave the pod for the seeds, but your bulb will be smaller.

You really have your shit together and I encourage my children to watch your channel. Thank you for literally everything. Not only is it time consuming to learn and know all of this but to film it is next level

Last fall I thought I'd just give it a try & put a several cloves in a grow bag & mulched it over. Hardnecks in Connecticut. After I saw my snowdrops & crocuses were coming up, I checked on the garlic. Success!!!! At least so far. I'm thrilled!!! Wish I had put in more!

Motion-activated sprinkler helps keep squirrels away from my garden, might help with skunks too!

I started the vernalization process about 4 weeks ago with the cloves in some potting mix and placed in the fridge. I already have a root system on every clove. First time growing garlic. Keep up the great video content.

I had a problem with skunks digging up my garden. After repairing and replanting 3x, I put light weight bird netting down, and planted in holes in cut. The skunk dug a little, but when it hit the bird netting it seemed to think it was a trap, cause it left and never returned!

Last fall was my first time planting garlic. It’s still buried under snow, so we shall we how it does throughout spring & summer. Luckily we don’t have digging pests. This video is helpful for the next steps in caring for garlic babies. 🌱

I only grow hardnecks here and they do really well. I plant in autumn and will be putting them in this month. We get the really cold winters so they do exceptionally well here in Tasmania
