Now I love lilacs even more. I read "A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towels and one of the most poetically beautiful parts of it was when the protagonist walks up to the roof of the hotel where he is staying and eats lilac honey on Russian black bread with one of the hotel caretakers. The caretaker set up bee hives and the bees would fly in from a park full of lilacs and nest in these hives. Maybe beekeeping near your lilac bushes might be a new venture for you.
