How to Apply Aftershave

If you want to avoid bumping and irritation, and attract ladies with your scent, follow these simple rules for splashing on aftershave.

Step 1: Shave and rinse
Shave and then rinse your face and neck with warm water to wash off the soap or shaving cream.

Step 2: Shrink your pores
Rinse your face and neck with cool water next to help close up your pores before you apply the aftershave.

Tip
Do not apply aftershave immediately after you have finished shaving since doing so might make your skin sore or irritated.

Step 3: Dry your face
Pat your face and neck dry gently with a towel.

Step 4: Choose your aftershave
Choose an aftershave type, such as a soothing balm or an invigorating splash of cologne, based on desired results. If you like a sharp, tingling sensation, choose an alcohol-based aftershave; if you like a cooling sensation, try a lotion- or cream-based aftershave.

Tip
Avoid products with perfumes and other unnecessary ingredients if you have sensitive skin. Select aftershaves specially made for sensitive skin.

Step 5: Apply lightly
Squeeze or spray a small amount of aftershave into your palm, rub your hands together, and then apply the aftershave to your shaved area, including your neck. Use only a small dime-sized amount to avoid overdoing the cologne scent -- and get on your way to start the day!

You know what, in retrospect, don't use alcohol. It dries your face and ages you prematurely. Get an alum block and use that, and then moisturize.

Don't towel dry your face. Towels store bacteria and the whole point of aftershave is to reduce razor burn and bumps which are caused by bacteria infecting the micro cuts you cause to your skin from shaving. Don't use the creams without alcohol - the whole point is to disinfect your skin with the alcohol. Apply a moisturizer afterward. Or, use an alum block for the disinfecting. Get an aftershave with witch hazel and alcohol for the best ability to disinfect and for the astringent to stop burn.

Bro, if you can help me out with this, it will be a great help.
I had these acne started due excessive sweat mixed with a cream based moisturizer at the start of this summer & i m being in long distance running.
So, to disinfect the face from sweat i used after shave 95% v/v directly applying on face, post running and applied aloe vera after it dried and left for whole day.
Did it for some 6 days .Acne did got controlled but my skin got all dried, very aged.
