Mistake #5: Using a Dull Razor. Years ago I worked in a restaurant. The prep cook taught me, “It is easier to cut yourself with a dull knife than a sharp one.” Point being a dull blade requires excessive pressure whereas a sharp blade will glide effortlessly.

This is for people with sensitive skin- listen up : I'm 63 years old and been wet shaving for decades but kept suffering from acne and irritation. Ive just dealt with it, since using electric shavers are worse. I've tried $50 imported shaving soaps from Europe and used a Synthetic brush. I've used $5.00 to $25 can and tube shaving gels, cream's and butters. I've used the best DE, SE razors and blades, it didn't matter..same result. After a long process of elimination and spending a small fortune on products around the world, today I only use Avenno and Nivea sensitive shaving gel and My skin 98% clear. The root cause of my past irritation and acne was the alcohol and aluminum sulfates in the shaving soaps. 90% of the soaps contains it along with tons of chemicals I cannot pronounce. Beware of the expensive fancy jars of soaps- there the worst! It sickend me to throw out a dozen different containers of this stuff. So if you have skin like me, I hope this saved you money and helped you out.

The Holy Trinity of Post Shave: Alum Block, After Shave, and after you dress, Shave Balm. Don't like Alcohol, use Witch Hazel based like Lucky Tiger. Rowr! Well done guys!

The old school after shaves won’t dry your face out if you moisturize after. And then burn hurts but it’s pleasant and doesn’t last long. Also it’s the best way to disinfect any wounds cause of the alcohol. Also the fragrance of old school after shaves are the best. Aftershave balm won’t disinfect cuts cause it has no alcohol.

Went from cartridge razor/canned shave cream to safety razor/shave soap. Will never go back, best shave ever.

Took a little getting used to a safety razor but have gotten better over the year.

I'm really late to this but I recently bought shaving cream, pre-shave oil, styptic pencil, badger brush, and I've had my two safety razors I had gotten with the purchase of the manscaped lawnmower. As soon as my shaving brush and and shaving cream get here I will shave for the first time with a safety razor. I'm kind of nervous not gonna lie but I believe it's worth the try

Pretty much the main mistakes were not taking the time to prepare my face for a clean shave, washing, heating, lathering with a brush and shaving soap instead of foam makes a massive difference. Learning how to use a double edge and three passes for baby bottom smoothness.

I have been making the mistake of not using a warm towel at the start and Also the mistake of way too long of strokes while shaving and Also not re applying when trying to get the bits I have missed I've had trouble for a long time to be honest this video has extremely helped me I really appreciate it cheers dude 😎🙂

I’ve picked up a few shaving creams but have never liked using them compared to foam/gel, I feel like there’s less lubrication. I shave with the grain first and then against to get a closer shave. But I don’t (should) re-later between. I also generally shave before I shower and don’t use aftershave but perhaps I should change that. I admit I do long runs as opposed to short ones too.

I literally did all of these before and still had irritated skin. After I switched to a high quality electric shaver, I am not only faster, but have zero irritations. Sure, it's not 100% as smooth, but visually it looks the same minus the red skin I had before.
