Is Mexico safe? After a recent comment on my video ‘Avoid Mexico Unless You Can Handle These Things,’ I decided to tackle the topic head-on. In this video, I dive into the realities of safety in Mexico, from the headlines about cartels to what life here is really like. As a Canadian living in Mexico, I’ll share my personal experiences, tips for staying safe, and why I still choose to call this place home. Let’s talk about what’s fact, what’s fear, and what’s noise.

In Cancun the biggest risk when you're stepping off the plane are overpriced taxis and the sales agents for time shares. Knowing that stuff, I feel safer in Mexico (even busy Cancun) than in Edmonton. Smaller towns are absolute paradises, as you can get great food and accommodations for a very reasonable price.

My neighbor is from Mexico moved his whole family up here took many years to do it legally. Great guy and his family. It would take me pages to tell you all the good and bad stories he has shared, The Cartels run Mexico. He says people like you who post video's the major tourist area's of Mexico are protected for money reason and to keep tourism up.But you already know that.

My daughter lived in Tijuana for a year with her boyfriend. She left after the police stole her rent money...they threatened to take my infant grandson. A couple of us went down to help her move. We were all in one car when we were stopped in sight of the border. Mysteriously found drugs in car...wanted money or she and the car would be taken. Leaving us 2 who didn't speak the language crying our eyes out. The 2 policemen tried to get us to stop crying, even turning us around so people could see us crying. Eventually they left. I swore I would never go into Mexico ever again.

I know Sinaloa isnt safe cuz of the cartel and military, and apparently in Oaxaca theres gangs in cahoots with the cops out to kill meth users (at least according to my family there)... Two states taking care of the drugs epidemics in different manners i guess? 😅

That’s easy for a man to say, but nobody ready for the gender roles conversation. 🤣
