I'm an American living in mexico. I have my own home, I eat fresh healthy food, fruits veggies, nuts for very little, super relaxed, not millionaire status but comfortable and I would never think of going back. Knock on wood.

I retired from the U.S. Army and moved to Brasil. I brought my mother, who has dementia, with me. I hired two nurses to care for my mother around the clock. Something that would be impossible in the U.S. Moving to Brasil was the best decision for me and my mother. I cannot comprehend ever moving back to the U.S. I make my money in the U.S. and live in Brasil. Best of both worlds.

I just took in my 89-year-old mom and we are both happy about that decision. I don't have the guilt about not seeing her enough, I get to feed her the right way, and she is thrilled to be with me.

No request to ‘Subscribe’, no request to ‘Like’. That’s why I did both, felt like we were in the kitchen together and I was listening to your story. Much success in your journey 👍🏻

"She wasn't having any of that". When an adult gets dementia they inherit the accountability and decision making ability of a child. I am an RN. I see families torn apart by unrealistic efforts on behalf of demented parents. The ones that do best have a family leader willing to make hard decisions. I am afraid I would have taken my parent "for a vacation" and then kept her at the new location. The last thing I would do is come out of retirement and incur debt to please someone who is increasingly child-like. Sorry but I think most people would regret your decision.

I have a story to tell you. My father Immigrated to the US when he was a young man (legally), worked Santa Fe Railroad for many years, going through many states, then he got sick with asthma back then he decided to moved back to Mexico my mother used to tell me, Son there was no medicine for Asthma many nights we thought he was not going to see the morning light, long story short, he decided to moved to Mexico and said, I will never put a foot back in America, some of us after growing up decided to come back to the US, I'm on my 60's now and understand why he took that decision, I worked hard 2 jobs most of my life made very descent money, retired now just to find out that I didn't make enough to live a descent life. We're struggling on a daily basis, Iam back working for minimum wage. Just the Grace of God keeping us going.

My dream of living in Mexico was inspired by a book called "Women Reinventing Their Lives in Mexico', by Karen Blue. That dream was shattered by a diagnosis of small cell lung cancer. Lots of chemotherapy and radiations treatments have left me incapacited. Your story, your resiliance, and ability to roll with the punches makes me happy. Best of luck to you and your family!

You are the reason I am living in Mexico—your video -can you live on social security got me thinking. I arrived in Querétaro in 2021 with a dog, two cats and three suitcases. I thank you for that video and that nudge to re—invent myself at 70. I wish you all the best.

I would never, ever expect or ask my kids or anyone to abandon their life choices to take care of me, at any stage in my life. I'm living my life, they deserve theirs.

I'm so glad my mother is agreeing to come with me before we even get to this point. I applaud you and your wife for this HUGE sacrifice.

Paul and Linda, I am a retiree fan of yours from Cancun. Maintain your connections in MX, so when things change for you again, you will have your support base to help you to regresse.

I am Mexican, lived in Valle de Bravo (adore it) and now I am living in Canada. I owe a little Island in the North of Quebec, and love my life here… but how I miss my doctors, my adorable dentist, my friends, my food, the sounds (serenatas, xilófonos, cantantes, Se Compra Fierro que Vendannn)… towns with romantic alleys, real brick and stone walls.. Oh, yes, How I miss Mexico! Still, I am here in Canada, and I am happy… as long as I can go back home at least twice a year.

Dear Paul and Linda, I am so sorry to learn of your need to leave you much loved Mexico and return to the USA. But as it is said "Success is a journey, not a destination". I also returned to the USA after 6 years in Los Cabos for a different reason and will never regret having moved there. I wish you all of good fortune in your new endeavors and a very positive journey for the rest of your lives.

I hope I never have to make a decision like you've had to make. Like you I moved to Mexico in 2015 and I consider it one of the best decisions I've ever made. I don't have enough income to live comfortably in the U.S. but it's enough that here in Mexico I've actually saved a nice little nest egg, own a beautiful house, and live debt free. Mexico is my home now and at 77 years old if I had to move back to the U.S. I'm sure I would spiral into a bottomless depression.

Hi Paul, I’m reinventing myself at 55. I’ve had a serious health scare, and a physical injury in the past two years. I feel blessed with a miracle, and now…they are calling me, Your Honor. I’ve closed the door to my past, which was a stepping stone now looking back on it! Hindsight gets clearer, 20/20, … the best of luck to us taking a leap of faith and making this our best life ever! Happy times ahead, and I’m a new subscriber… today! Making every day better one like 👍 at a time. I have more changes in mind, as I’m sure you do too! 😊 vibrating in the 5D… forever changed. 🎉❤

I'm not an American, not even close. But boy, I can tell Americans are hard working people. For this a massive respect. And you, sir, are the exact example.
