Mexico City 2024 Travel Warning ⚠️ There's NO WATER + NOT SAFE? CDMX Problems 🇲🇽

Показать описание

We continue our time in Mexico city and today we're talking about all the problems we've been having in the city. We had to switch hotels because the original one ran out of water. We've also been sick, had altitude sickness and stomach problems.

Everyone also asked us if we feel safe in Mexico City so throughout the course of the video we talk about safety and how to stay safe in Mexico City. As we discuss our problems we make our way through the Reforma area, giving a tour of our new hotel. We also make our way to Chapultepec Park. And later head to Monument to the Revolution and to a rooftop bar called Terraza Cha Cha Chá to check out the amazing views.

Our credit cards and hotel status really helped a lot in switching hotels during the water outage, these are the two cards we use (referral for Canadians):

We live in Mexico and have driven to many parts that are considered dangerous, Morelia, Zacatecas, and Guanajuato. You are right use your smarts to stay safe, be aware of your surroundings. Mexico has so much to offer, it is beautiful and so are the people. Media up north definitely skew the facts of the entire country when bad things happen. Yes bad things happen, everywhere! Love your videos, you both are so vibrant and informative. Thank you:)

Good to hear you’re both now well and hydrated, no water is serious stuff. Plenty here, it’s rained every day for weeks!

Great video! As a California resident, the water issue there is surprising to me. My state had been in a drought for decades yet never had a loss of running water. Now recent rains have ended that. I will never take this for granted. And thank you for your take on safety. I have been wanting to visit Mexico City but feared it was dangerous. Now I have more confidence in visiting. Thank you!

14:00 Those are great egrets. In spanish we call it garza and you can find them in the Dominican Republic too, but in rural areas.

I’m from Mexico City, and live in California now. All of my family lives in CdMX. The water situation is only difficult in some of the high rise building areas. There he people that actually live there in the regular suburbs, have already done things to be ready. Water cisterns, catchment systems, etc. The people in the suburbs always have water.

Hey glad you both are feeling better!! Just got back from a week myself, stayed in condesa, thankfully no water issues for us. I just wanted to also say how SAFE it really is/feels anyway. The people are charming, warm and I would love to go back again, perhaps stay in Polanco. Great videos guys!!

I appreciate the video. I'm heading to CDMX next month for the third time and have been monitoring the water issues - wasn't sure if it would reach hotels, but, obviously, it has. I'm staying in a hotel for the first time (always AirBnB in the past) and will definitely check ahead to see what the situation is with them.

Hi Anna & Trevor, another great video! Have been viewing all your uploads since you moved to the Dominican Republic a few years back. You inspired us to begin traveling more often as your videos are quite interesting and one can see how it really is in these countries you explore. We try to plan for 3 trips a year now since initially watching you folks on Youtube. May I say I truly admire how well you create these videos together, so in sync. I to am from eastern Canada, Newfoundland. Having traveled to 6 countries since being inspired by you both, I admire your energy, strength, resilience and wonderful abilities to travel and work remotely. You both do such a fine job of the videos! Our favourite is any island in the Caribbean sea. We really enjoy the nature and snorkeling. Enjoy all your On My Way Nows! Best wishes for you both.

Great video! I prefer street food when travelling so usually buy probiotics wherever I am… managed to be on CDMX for a month with no issues.

“I feel safer here than I do in many places in the US.” Such a true statement. People always ask me about the DR and safety and I’m always following it up with “I feel safer there than I do in Columbus, let alone a place like New York. Safety is always more of a “you” problem meaning how do you keep yourself from being a victim.
