human attention is so fascinating, on the one hand, you can argue people can notice details while focusing on something else better than they could 30 years ago because this test is more complex than the famous basketball passing one. there's a second distraction of the man in the back, the first distraction being the initial prompt, and then on top of that it requires slightly more focus to notice if 3 different people raised their hands at the exact same time vs following a basketball to count how many times it's been passed. and yet attention spans have never been lower statistically nowadays. interesting.
