once you get internet access, the best browser you can get for Windows XP would be the Maypal browser, allowing more detailed pages to load, therefore allowing you to navigate them

Man, you put out more words per minute than the RPM of that old HDD!

I pulled out my family’s old Dell Inspiron today. Not only did we somehow still have the XP install CD but we had the driver CD too.

I hear that setup theme in the background. I respect that, such a banger for something most people will only hear once for about 5 minutes.

I still have that Pavillion with its original Box and 17" LCD + speakers set waaay back in 2001, now its upgraded to WIndows 10 4GB Ram 1TB HDD Nvidia Graphics, very reliable computer. XP is now perfected abit outdated but can run alot of older legacy games though ;)

pro tip, don't use the 64bit version of windows xp. it's extremely buggy, programs constantly crash on you or just straight up refuse to work, the first system that had a "properly" working 64bit version was windows vista (but calling vista a properly working system is a bit of a stretch, lol)

Been there done that. I commonly do this on my channel if anybody ever wants to install the Sims complete collection. I just do it through virtual box. I find this fascinating though. You went out of your way to find all this. That is pretty dope

Protip: in recovery or preinstall environment of Windows 8 and onwards, you can literally just clean the bootdrive (C: in Windows). This saves a lot of time manually deleting useless partitions.
It's three commands: diskpart -> sel dis [X] -> clean (where [X] may be 0, but mustn't be, to be sure you can "det dis" which should show its info).

It's not too bad. I have a windows XP netbook that I run Vocaloid2, office 2003, and UTAU on and it works great! Even boots decently quick.

I still use XP on a daily basis, yes... online, yes... for modern tasks. It is still fully usable for almost all modern tasks even in 2023. Mypal 68 is a great browser, and there are still lots of software that support it, and if you cant find what you need, an old version will probably still work for a lot of things. It isn't difficult, and Windows XP is not going anywhere any time soon.

Funnily enough, it's still a widely used OS especially in Eastern Europe

I used Windows XP on 15th of January this year and it still works fine. On my older P4 computer. Only the DVD drives are NOT working properly. Also, the RAM is just 256MB, despite 128MB being recommended amount of RAM. Also, the sound card is damaged. Also, there is NO cable for the floppy disk drive. I will make sure to add a DDR1 1GB RAM, repair the DVD drives or buy new ones, put a new sound card, and a cable for the floppy disk drive. And buy a new CRT monitor and a keyboard and mouse for sure.

Tip: If you need to use the internet on there, you may need to install chrome first, as IE will no longer browse modern website. Great vid!
