Tesla did what was necessary and put the budget towards the things that count like battery drivetrain and electronics. once they had that nailed and had production up and cost down they then redesigned the interior and materials to better quality. Great product, brilliant business.

You could have mentioned some more upgrades - you now get much more for the same money as before. Better materials in the interior, LED-light strip in the interior, screen for the back passengers. It is an amazing value what you get for your money, just compare it with some other premium brands with the same features.

Tesla installed what aftermarket parts of the original model 3 been selling for awhile. Rear screens. Ambient lighting. Still missing front dash cluster . Only they removed the fog lights.

I own a X, 3, Y. Tesla checked so many boxes even with first generation car. It compared to many 10 th generation cars from competitors. Just think Tesla 10 generation, flying?

Dear Motor Trend, just a word of advice if you are comparing two generations of cars that are nearly identical to each other it's very hard to observe that in a moving quick cut shot. Put them side by side and point out the differences. Yes, if I were a Tesla aficionado I could probably see more but I'm not, I'm a interested observer thinking about my next car 1-2-3 years down the road maybe being a Tesla.
