“Lee Anderson Wrongly Suggested This…” | Labour Housebuilding Reforms

Angela Rayner plans to allow building on Green Belt land larger than Surrey to meet Labour’s goal of 1.5 million homes by 2029. The Housing Secretary will announce reforms to loosen restrictions on "low-quality" Green Belt areas, often already partly developed.

Rayner has vowed to challenge Nimby campaigners and councils blocking housing projects, recently overruling Buckinghamshire County Council to approve a data centre on Green Belt land near the M25.

Mike Graham speaks with social housing commentator, Andy Winter.

Angela Raynor has already stated that migrants are the priority. The stats from 2021, only 16% of social housing is British people

They come before the British people as we come last

NOT the British. Being given a passport when you arrive illegally does NOT make you British

Crap. 800 homeless families in my borough, and the last 3 empty social housing homes on my street went to incomers, certainly not locals born and bred here.

This is disgusting when you have british families in one room .waiting for housing for years.putting migrants first, who deserve absolutely nothing.

Where my mother in law in ( council rental)lived for decades. When she moved in all were British. She died about 9 years back her home was allocated to her Asian carers family to rent. All the street are now Asian background. No British Al all. Stop talking bol locks. The houses are still council.

NO ADVANTAGE TO
Housing according to needs - who has more needs, a family of seven who cannot speak English or work, or a local family with extended family, friends and support in place....

I work in the private sector of new housing but our builder has to provide 35% of homes built to a housing association. They make mistakes of who they put into that housing and and I have examples of their tenants who are antisocial to neighbours and the community. Try and evict troublemakers and it’s almost impossible. Take them to court and they are apologetic to the magistrate so they are allowed to remain in their home but once away from the court they misbehave again. It’ll take three months or more for another court hearing and they are apologetic again. It’s a cycle. Tenants work the system and apologise. Magistrates don’t want to chuck someone out of their home. Many have come from overseas and use the language problems as an excuse.

Need to build houses where the jobs are realistically.
But if as expected the vast majority of these new builds go to a recently arrived demographic that wont be necessary.

lee is right, in my area in the north my local council has put immigrants in new houses built this year and there is a load of locals want a house, so this guy is talking out of his ass

Total crap, my block of 56 social housing flats, has 12 immigrant family's living here, barely able to speak english.
They have all been fast tracked in to the local dentist and doctor surgery's, plus get picked up by taxi to go to their asylum meetings (at the taxpayers / councils expense)
