HONDA e – Is this the ultimate Urban Electric Car? | 100% Independent, 100% Electric

LIKE if you think the Honda E is the cutest EV out there & SHARE if you think EVs should be more affordable than this..

It's retro alright, but it's also built for the modern world. We have featured the Honda E before, but this is the first time we've been able to try it out in its natural urban habitat. One thing is for sure, it is a beautiful car with a smooth and simple design that turns heads wherever it goes. Despite being compact, it's surprisingly still a 5 door, and offers up some notable extra features including cameras for wing mirrors and a panoramic glass sunroof. For a premium compact car though, the battery and range are also small in comparison to other similar-sized EVs. It's fun to drive and a great little city car, but is the Honda E the ultimate urban EV? If not, which one is?

It's expensive and it has a low range, but let's not forget, there are thousands upon thousands of Range Rovers, Tiguans, Volvo XC etc etc SUVs that just take the kids to school every day and then sit on the drive.
If we could make these "trendy" for the posh school gates, we may actually be able to kill off the "my other car is a Range Rover too" mentality.

I love the look of this car, but I think I'll wait for future versions with better battery

Seriously disturbed about Rory flicking through screen as he went through numerous junctions

Rory actually made me nervous fiddling with the screens while driving! Otherwise, a great video.

When you were using the dual screens while driving I was deeply concerned about the amount of distraction they cause, not only looking on what app you want but then for a button to choose a screen and scrolling through options. The screens are definitely cool but I can see a lot of accidents caused by a driver spending too much time on the inbuilt tablet in the car

I want one, completely inappropriate for my needs but I still want one

Driving whilst playing around with the dual screens? Surely that would cause the same sort of distraction you'd get playing around with your phone, which is illegal and Rory does seem a little distracted from the road.

Could've showed us that whilst the car was charging surely?

A month in to ownership and I'm averaging 4.6m per kWh and achieving ~140m per charge. The range and how you use it is largely dictated by your driving style, the routes you're taking and ambient conditions.... so don't assume that the "real world is 100m" is always going to apply to you and your use cases.

Stop driving while navigating the screens! For the love of Pete!

£30k for a car that can do 96 miles?! Love the design but that range is not acceptable in this day and age, especially at that price.

Rowan Atkinson will really love this car too...

As much as I love technology in cars Touch screen controlling half the car is just plain dangerous, how many times did he have to take his eyes of the road just to explain some of the functions.

"for the love of God stop playing with your gadgets whilst driving. You should have the majority of your attention on the road especially whilst passing cyclists, "

One gets the feeling that if Honda wished to do a intercity tourer, they could.

Nicely presented and put together video, but for the love of God stop playing with your gadgets whilst driving. You should have the majority of your attention on the road especially whilst passing cyclists, it looked like it was produced on a trailer or in a green screen studio going by the amount of time this guys eyes met the road.

Already an icon of this generation, love the styling of it.

That infotainment system is the illogical extreme of all the worst trends in modern automotive design. Watch Rory drive around trying to use it makes my skin crawl.
