Winning Just by Starting

The Olympic Marathon Trials is a race that blurs the line between amateur and professional runners. Only three women of the 259 starters made it to the Olympics, but for many, competing in Los Angeles with the country’s greatest runners was a dream come true. Strava supported five runners who qualified for the Trials at the last minute. They earned the opportunity to race among the best. Simply getting to the start line was a victory.
