Like, comment, and subscribe, trying to see if this can start as a running channel! Final Chip Time - 6:06:31

So I GoPro-d my first ever marathon, running the 2022 New York City Marathon on November 6th, 2022. After only starting to run in quarantine and getting to the big stage just over 2 years later, I figured this could provide an in-depth view for anyone thinking of starting to run a marathon or get into marathon running what it feels like just starting out.

Happy to answer any questions about how to get started training for a marathon and what it takes to sign up in the comments! (Haven't decided if I want to make this a full-fledged channel, if there's enough likes/comments/subscriptions suggesting people want to know, I'll give it a go)

Camera - GoPro Hero 8 (Lesson learned, definitely will be going for the head/chest mount over the hand mount next time)

As interesting as it is to watch the pros and semi-pros run, there really is nothing better than watching ordinary people do something extraordinary!! Congrats on the strong finish!! This is such an inspiration!!

I'm running my first marathon this Nov (2024) and I loved how you yelled at the end!!! I got so teary eyed! Because I could feel your emotion to finish. I know for sure, that will be the same thing I do. Looking forward to running those 5 boroughs! Congratulations !!!!

Excellent! Thanks for filming this! I felt your pain when you cramped just before the finish but you did it!

Congratulations on finishing your first marathon. I am proud of you! You did this relatively soon after you became a runner, so this is quite an accomplishment!

Slow and steady wins the race. Seriously, this is the video I need. I’ve been wondering if a full marathon is too much for me to handle…perhaps I can do it with the right training. How long did you train for?

I felt that roar at the end! Made me a bit emotional experiencing someone else's first marathon finish with them. Awesome work 💪😎

You helped me re-live my own experience of the first time I did the NYC Marathon. I loved it so much that I came back and did it 22 times - I hope you will come back and "conquer" the course again also!

Congratulations! This year I will run or walk the New York Marathon... I want to experience the atmosphere and the energy that is there. I wanted to ask you: How many hours did you do it? Do they give you a medal at the end? Thank you very much for showing your career... you are very brave.

Congrats on the awesome finish! Seemed like such an awful day heat/humidity wise, I don't even know that I would've made it to the halfway point

I ran the NYC Marathon this year and your video gave me a lot of souvenirs. I am curious have you used a Go Pro to record the full course ?

Its cool you documented this! I'm going to try my best to get in 2025. Can I ask, what was the file size of this 6hr video? Did you run into any overheating issues with the gopro? thank you

Thank-you so very much for this. I am running this year and it will be my first, also first visit to New York. I expect to be back of the pack, so this has been invaluable. What did you find most comfortable on the run/walk method, minute ratio?

I need to watch it in detail... a 3:16:25-38, you were passing my family!!! I saw them on the video. So you must have passed me on the course at some point. I finished 6:15 because of some cramping and saying hi to my family, which I do not normally do in training. We ran a heck of a marathon!!! Didn't we??
