New Players who run directly to The Strip

The Strip it calls to me, I must answer. Why would I take the longer U shaped route if I can take this direct route instead?

what I love is that 90% of new players do this and get immediately obliterated by death claws and Cazadors before begrudgingly doing other things, but most players by their third playthroughs probably know how to get to the strip in 2 seconds

a documentary about penguins surviving in the Mojave wasteland sounds interesting

To be honest i'm now curious why. Why Did the penguin go for the Mountains?
Does he hunts for some one who shot him in the head?

i remember not knowing about the other road leading to new vegas, so i essentially just pushed and pushed the deathclaw path, until i found a way to jump from mountain to mountain on the side to avoid the deathclaws and eventually making my way to the strip, missing most of the game, havent been able to replicate this since though

An accelerated start is totally doable. You need a stealth boy and NCR faction armor. You can get a stealth boy in Goodsprings, search all the things, you can get the NCR faction armor from a container in a tent outside of Primm in the NCR camp. Since you're heading that way, you can also collect the materials to repair ED-E then pop into 'Lonesome Road' just to collect the 1st circuit board upgrade that grants ED-E the ability to repair your equipped weapon every 13 hours. Make sure you pick up the snowglobe in the Goodsprings cemetery then head to Sloan. Continue along the road despite the warning. Pop your stealth boy once you see Deathclaws along the road and proceed carefully until you make it to Trading Post 188. Recruit Veronica, head to the Repconn HQ, get to the top floor, strip the dead BoS Knights of their power armor & weapons and pass that equipment to Veronica. Make your way to Camp McCarran, put on your NCR faction armor, then you can take the monorail to the NCR embassy in the Strip and not be attacked by NCR personnel. Once there, head to the Lucky 38. Talk with Mr. House, collect the Snowglobe in the cocktail lounge and the Mormon Fort in Freeside then turn the three in to Mr. House's robot secretary, Jane. Now you have 6000 caps. Clean out the casinos at blackjack if you can (decent luck score, quick saves/loads & patience) then head over to Dr. Usanagi for implants. At low level, +1 Int pays off over time by providing the additional skillpoint on level up. With your remaining wealth you might head over to the gun runners for some extra ammo. Now you can 'play the game'.

This is one of my all time favorite documentary scenes and the fact that you combined it with this game brings me so much joy.

In my first play through I brute forced my way through the death claws and took the monorail to the strip since I was wearing NCR ranger armor because I thought it looked cool. It was only later I found out that I just lucked out by wearing the right armor.

The Skyrim score makes this a masterpiece.

I usually start an unarmed build like this:

>Follow path north of Goodsprings behind graveyard where you were shot
>Use mercenary grenade launcher on small group of cazadors (2 Adult, 3-4 young)
>Stop at Bonnie springs for special weapon
>Head to Chance's Map and follow the road north, avoiding fire geckos to the east
>Arrive at strip and gamble.

From there on the only enemies you will encounter are fiends which will get you energy weapons to sell. Just becareful of Nephi, Cook-Cook and Violet.
