The older my Leachie gets, the more cranky she becomes 😂. She likes to growl often, but I still love her.

You asked why we watch.... you present pets we can keep in a super down to earth way. You mispronounce stuff, can't remember super technical stuff, and recommend great pets that I'd never know about otherwise. THEN you come out with awesome care vids that us plebs can totally follow and understand. You're not pretentious about it either. Very personable. Love it.

I will always have a crested gecko so entertaining to watch and handle. Incredibly cute with their one singular braincell

PSA: Do not smash a leopard gecko, African fat-tailed gecko, and Chinese Cave gecko together if you want a Banded gecko

Just got a crested gecko and he’s awesome! I keep in a 60 gallon bio active. He lives with a House gecko but I didn’t mean for him to. It was more a rescue kinda thing. Because when we bought his enclosure a house gecko was inside the packaging and the reptile store was an hour and a half away so we just put him in the crested geckos tank and he’s doing just fine. In fact sometimes I see the house gecko and the crestie next to eachother

I had a flying gecko as a teenager(this was in the 90's), he was likely wild caught and lived for about 8 years in a planted terrarium. He was probably one of my favorite reptiles ever, the way he hunted crickets was astounding, like a tiny mountain lion.
Probably a big part of why I ended up becoming a biologist. I would just like to say, there is nothing wrong with keeping species that you never intend to handle, for some species handling just stresses the animal out or allows for a situation where a delicate species could be hurt.

I don't own any geckos but I love Electric blue day geckos! I was tempted to buy chameleon geckos didn't go threw. You should do another "Top 5 best skinks."

I can see the appeal of Flying Geckoes since their baggy 'parachutes" give them an odd look even without the gliding but them being so hard to find Captive Breed is a big deal breaker if your not planning on Breeding them yourself. Beyond that I can't get enough of the Scorpion Tail Gecko. Unique look and a small size (not much bigger then a Dune or Viper Gecko), easy to take care of and hardy, yet not all that flighty.

Totally agree with you on #5. I tried to keep a wild caught one. He refused to eat, so I released it the next day. My absolute fav gecko is the gargoyle geckos. My cresties are nice, but not a great as my gargs! Leches are awesome, but I don't have one because of the price.

I feel that a tokay is a monitor lizard inside a gecko so smaller enclosure and with time they can be tamed, also you don't lose fingers when you get slammed by it.

I remember one day when I came home from an expo I brought some snakes, couple frogs and only 3 morning geckos for 20 gallon. The day I put them in 1 of them found a hole and got out. Now this expo was about 6 months ago and 3 weeks ago I found here in one of my plants.

Love the shoutout for the chameleon geckos. Definitely one of the most underrated if not the most underrated gecko out there. They are really awesome

I actually got into geckos when I found two house gecko eggs in a potted plant I bought (took forever to identify them, not many people know house geckos in my state, little guys were shipped from Florida). One, Humpty, didn't make it (hatched a full week earlier than their sibling with an unabsorbed yolk, refused food for the first three weeks of life, couldn't complete sheds despite adequate humidity and electrolyte soaks) but Bugsy is still going strong at 9-10 months and is a tiny tank. Got out twice, survived 5 hours then 11 days loose in my house, but by some miracle, I was able to find and catch him and escape proof the tank (he could wiggle out the slits from the closed wire slats in an exoterra lid). Still, Humpty and Bugsy got me into geckos. But I wanted a gecko I could handle and one I would actually see (I only know Bugsy is there from poops and eaten insects lol, I haven't seen more than a tail for three months) so now I have a gargoyle gecko, Clever Girl, who thinks I'm scarier than the devil.

Another alternative would be Viper Geckos! I have many of them and they are great little geckos. I love watching them hunt. They will actually chase down their prey all around the enclosure! :) I also just adopted an adult Frog Eyed gecko. I know she's a "look don't touch" reptile and I'm ok with that. Great video!
