Vine snakes are horrible pets if you don't have a constant supply of lizard feeders. They're always eating, too. Look up the Candoia genus. There are ground boas & arboreal boas in that genus. But, yeah, anything Antaresia are some of the most awesome, underrated snakes out there. I have 3 myself. :)

Love the list. A lizard list would be awesome. Keep up the good work.

One of your 7 south african viewer's lol. I loved the way steve irwin pronounced "Boomslang" in one of his videos.

I had someone try and convince me the other day that he used to get bitten by a boomslang on a regular basis when he was a kid. I wondered afterwards if he had any other hidden “superpowers”. Im glad to know though that I’m not the only person that mentally spasms when someone pronounces the snakes name

I work at a store where we do sell reptiles. The amount of time people (with limited experience) have asked us if we can get venomous snakes is genuinely nuts. While one may be able to legally own one, in the majority of the US we cannot sell them

As someone who’s still mentoring for venomous after 2 years, can confirm. There’s a ton of factors beyond just the venom when different snakes tend to have different temperaments and needs.

I’ve gotten to feed Collett’s snakes and it’s still freaky knowing a bite from the juvenile I fed could kill everyone in the room.

Love hearing someone recommend Nerodia. Loved keeping them as pets when I was younger, and I've always found they tame down really easy. That said, I didn't know there were anyone breeding them much, so now I'll have to go looking for breeders.

#3 Dragon Snake: an alternative, African File Snakes. Though many are wild caught, some are captive bred or hatched. The color on these snakes can be jet black to violet purple and have an awesome temperment either way.

I will never get over how hilarious vine snakes look.

6:23 How dare you call me out like this!! I feel personally attacked. 😂 Lol I don’t understand how people can sleep WITHOUT a fan. Just….a quiet house? I can’t fathom it. How can you fall asleep? You can hear cars driving down your street and your neighbors closing their car doors and your fridge making ice, and your house settling. Bizarre

I'll say that Nerodia *can* make great display pets but you have to invest space and effort into the setup--a good example of a rhombifer or fasciata is really pretty, and a rhombifer can be pretty impressive size wise. But plan on a larger than you'd expect cage for a snake that size, and allow for a good swimming area if you want to really enjoy the snake.

Im so glad you mentioned African Rock Pythons because I saw one at the zoo the other day and had never heard of them before

Too bad in France we cannot get green tree boas because they are considered as a native species in French Guyana ... It's the same with rainbow boas... You need to get costly special permits etc...

I had a Western Diamondback as kid. The fact that I am still here is proof to me that i have used all of my venomous creature luck and, as much as I wish I could have a cobra, I know it would introduce itself to me by killing me.

Boomslangs aren’t the only potentially dangerous rear-fanged snake. Twig snakes and Rhaspodaphus pack a hell of a punch too.

Always wondered what the opinion is on white lip pythons.

Worked an exotic pet store for a while out in Southern California, a few guys kept venomous snakes - one in particular kept death adders, rattle snakes, vipers, etc.

He said the hardest part of learning to work with venemous snakes is there aren't other snakes that behave the way venemous snakes do, so it's difficult to learn how to properly handle them - especially the more aggressive/defensive species - in a safe environment.

Instead of Amazon or Emerald tree boas, I would definitely recommend Solomon Island tree boas!! Even the wild caught ones are known to be super docile, my male is wild caught and doesn't mind handling, he's just always super chill 😄

I really think you should do a gargoyle gecko care guide, there aren't many on youtube, and even though they are similar to crested geckos, there are a decent amount of factors that separate the two, Also, I am looking forward to getting a gargoyle gecko, and I wanted to make sure that I have all the right information as to taking care of one. It would be very helpful and appreciated by me if you made a care guide for gargoyle geckos, so if you like this idea, please consider making a video about it.

Good list!! We have 3 ATB's. The 5 month old baby is probably the calmest out of the 3. I can even bring her up to my face and she won't strike. We also adopted her momma and she is a little skittish but still pretty chill. The male we adopted has taken some work. He used to strike my husband multiple times while out but now he doesn't strike hardly ever. Took months of training by my husband. Still wouldn't put him up by my face but he is handleable. 😆

I like the idea of doing this style of video for both lizards and amphibians
