You're right because we all know no plane from a major airline has ever crashed.

But Southwest Airlines pilots were mostly from the Air Force so Southwest Airlines pilots have a lot of experience

If there is one budget airline you can avoid. Do NOT fly with Allegiant Air in the US. They are under FAA watch for questionable maintenance records, and a former NTSB safety official has described them as "an accident waiting to happen". One of my classmates last year flew on Allegiant from Grand Forks to Las Vegas... or was supposed to. The aircraft didn't pressurize, so after burning fuel, they had to land. In case anyone is curious, the last time an aircraft failed to pressurize in 2005, it crashed in Athens, Greece, killing everyone on board.

They obviously don’t pay as much to the crew because they basically only operate 1 aircraft. Also. Budget airlines are safe (at least more safe) rather than main airlines due to fleet ages (main airlines have older fleets whilst budget airlines have newer fleets as they are more efficient and easier to maintain unlike older aircrafts.

Also. Still on the fact with budget airlines mainly using 1 type of aircraft. They can train all their staff for just one aircraft in a matter of months to a year where as main airlines take up to 3 years of training.

A low cost airline may have more experienced crews as they often draw pilots who come from defunct carriers who are unable or unwilling to start over at a Legacy carrier. A career at a Legacy carrier typically starts at a younger age when crews have less experience.

Most airlines are expensive due to overhead, safety not really. They aren't stupid, if their plane keep falling they are out of business and they want to be in business. Planes shouldn't cost 2000$, travel in off season and they are like 500$ round way international.

Yes, "Budget Airlines, " or as they call it in our industry, Low Cost Carriers and Ultra Low Cost Carriers (LCC & ULCC), are completely safe and most will save you money compared to Legacy Type Carriers (American, United, Delta). They just get rid of some "frills" of flying. All Air Carriers must abide by strict rules and regulations set forth in many parts of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs ... now the Code of Federal Regulations or CFRs), especially Part 121. Just remember that flying is still the safest form of transportation.

low cost airlines also have the youngest fleet of aircrafts

0:37 *it doesn't attract a higher level of experienced pilot, it doesn't mean they're not safe pilot it means that they may have less experienced* : It is like someone asked how you "blind date" was and if the girl is hot and your answer was "she's kind". LMAO....oh well we all die so fuckthatshit haha

Bigger carriers have huge advertising costs! Low budget doesn't spend 80 million on advertising, it has nothing to do with pilots. Larger carriers have more overhead costs also, unions and over paid CEO'S with huge bonuses. It's that simple. Not pilots that are second class. I bet a large carrier paid for that report to put the seed into our heads that we're getting second class pilots. There is a huge surplus of excellent pilots.

Being a nervous flyer I won't use a budget airline, I don't have faith in the pilots I'm sorry to say...of course there are probably good ones, but I don't want to rake the chance and get an inexperienced one.
