LQR = Linear-Quadratic Regulator, right? So PID is more precise and LQR is more straightforward in this aspect based on the video, right?

cascaded pid is smooth similar to the lqr in this case

both of the control loops are unstable ( oscillations in the steady state ), probably not enough gain margin
