Sorry for the blank space in the video. It should show the study I reference, which you can find here:

Somebody once said that if all the 'authentic' splinters from the "True Cross" were brought together, you could build a three-story house with them. There was a thriving business in 'holy relics' during the Middle Ages... There have always been grifters...

Anyone who's worked in Photography or Optics knows that's not how image transfer works. The shroud would have to be perfectly flat during the transfer in order to avoid image distortion. If the shroud was, let's say, draped over a corpse when the image was created, it would've produced an image that looks more like a panoramic dental xray than a typical photograph.

No one needs to know the date of creation to know that the claim is false: JUST LOOK AT IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

The antipope is the point on earth diametrically opposite of where the pope is at any one time. Usually off the coast of New Zealand.

I love fake religious artifacts. It's a good thing to love because there are a lot of them. "Catholic Saint" bones as far as the eye can see...

So this was a resurrected hoax about a resurrected hoax?

My Chem prof was on the team that examined it. He was a PHD in physical chemistry and a priest in the Episcopal church. When he got back from Italy he left the church.

I sat through an art history class where the discussion was religious relics. What the teacher said was that all or most churches in medieval times had to have some relic to attract people. Some had nails from the cross (and there was some ridiculous amount of them), foreskins of Jesus (and there were a bunch of those too) as well as shrouds. So yes, it's a given that all of that stuff is bs.

I can find 7 different recipes for Elvis Presley's' favorite recipe for fried chicken.

47 years and the 'The king's' favorite recipe is already lost to tine.

I'll stand by the simplest debunk, no face impression is going to appear undistorted on a cloth that was "wrapped around" a face, at the very least it would be stretched when unwrapped, at worst stretched and wrinkled all to hell, that image is too clean.

Ugh it doesn't matter how many studies and how much dating is done to disprove it. Like someone making up reasons to stay in a bad relationship, people always find reasons to keep believing in these things. We need to be better as a society at admitting when we're wrong 🙃

The Shroud of Turin features a 3/1 herringbone twill weave, which is a complex pattern involving the weft thread passing over three warp threads and under one. This type of weave is not known to have existed in the first century Middle East and is more consistent with medieval European weaving techniques, likely requiring a four-shaft treadle loom that appeared in Europe around the 12th century.
So how can the Shroud be from the time of Jesus when this weaving technique didn't exist? Oops..😂

Shroud of Turin, more like the shroud of Falsin.... alright come back to me in another 500 years when this is relevant again and i should have had enough time to workshop this by then.

I much prefer the Shroud of Tureen which held the sauce of our starchy, multi-stranded God.

2:58 the Shroud is actually mentioned as existing in Constantinople prior to its appearance in France. It is associated with the Mandylion, which has appearwd in Orthodox church iconography since the 3rd century. Vatican records also contain reference to a cloth that contained the full image of Christ, but was folded and displayed so as only to reveal the face, that was displayed in Edessa, then Constantinople.

Its so fascinating. If enough time passes, things which are obvious fake relics from a thousand years ago can become relics in and of themselves even though they're still fake.

What?! It's fake? Now don't tell me that Uri Geller doesn't bend spoons with his mind.
