MacBook with Parallels Faster .NET Build than PC?

I ran a Visual Studio 2019 build of a .NET Blazor project and it seems faster on a MacBook Pro with Parallels than on a Windows Lenovo laptop.

I was late to Mac but when I moved over I could not believe how much better MacOS was? I suppose it is that Apple does the software where as OEMs have to rely on MS and Windows. When I moved to Mac it was during the dark days of W8 when I could not even get my router to connect, that was the last straw. I went out and bought a MacBook Pro and was up with my router, running a few mins later! No more BSOD or crazy Windows updates that cause mayhem and even though MS has improved W10 I still am a Mac fan, reinforced by the M1 chips! Your video does not surprise me having been Mac for some years and hopefully this generation of buyers will switch to Mac due to the M1 and finally see the woods from the trees!

I just bought an M1 Macbook Pro with 8GB of RAM (my first Mac device ever) based on all of the info I got from your videos, so I pulled the trigger on that. But tbh I do still miss some of my Windows workflows and thought Parallels was free before I buying my device.
So getting a license would truly make my whole life.

Thanks for this chance you’re giving us, and thank you again for the awesome entertaining content!

I love that you aren't clickbaity by specifying something, and then obscuring it until the end.

I love your channel and being a developer testing my apps on parallels to see how they run on windows would be awesome

Just got the M1 Macbook Air,
Parallels will definitely boost my productivity in this beastly machine.

This is my first time using a mac.
But I am blown away with what I am seeing of this machine.

I am curious to see how the M1 would perform in the same test with Parallels.

I'm using mb pro with parallels for about 4 years now for windows development. Have no regret switching from pc. My annual subscription will expire on 20th of June so having this free license code will be nice.

Cohesive mode looks like the ideal situation, full access to Windows apps but without the "within-a-window" feel

Yep, parallels cool! In love with it over 5 years.

I had a similar experience in college when a 15'' retina MacBook Pro running windows in Bootcamp built a .NET application faster than everyone's PC (Beefed up gaming pcs here too) in class. I changed from a PC to a Macbook after this

Not sure if I missed that : what's the amount or RAM in the Lenovo? Could this have an impact?

Just switched from Windows to Mac for the first time... I would still need a VM for DevOps engineering and with Parallers would be awesome.

I'm 20 years of Windows user and switching to mac. Still would love to run Windows programs on parallels

How if you tried the same test with a M1?!

Ever since I bought my MacBook Pro back in 2014, I couldn’t just go back. I still need Windows for some work but, working on a Mac has been amazing.
Now I’m just waiting for the new M1X(?) MacBook Pro (14 inch?), hopefully

Will be getting one of those coming 14 Inch MBP, would love a parallels copy to use on that!

I used Parallels countless times over the years with my Macs but i was not aware of the coherence feature so it must be a new thing! I'd really love to be able to try it out!!!

Amazing! I can't wait for a stable build of Parallels/Windows for the M1 chip.

macOS optimisation I'd say. Since parallels take just half of the resources to run windows virtually, Mac was still able to out perform a Windows laptop running on full resources. Correct me if I'm wrong...
