I HATE MASKS

I hate masks
I hate wearing a mask
I hate the fact they make my face sweaty
I hate that masks sometimes cause my skin to breakout
I hate carrying a mask
I hate that I have a harder time hearing what people are saying when they’re wearing a mask
I hate wrangling my glasses when I put a mask on
I hate that masks make my glasses fog up…
But I hate the thought that I’d be the reason some little kid got sick more
So I’ll wear one when I need to
Not all the time
Not a ridiculous amount
But when it seems smart too wear one
Because who the hell cares?
It’s a momentary inconvenience
It doesn’t mean lockdowns
in fact it prevents them…
And don’t start with the “but masks don’t stop you from getting sick”
It’s not about you
It’s about reducing the risk
even by a little
So somebody’s kid doesn’t needlessly suffer
This isn’t hard to grasp
I fucking hate masks

I completely agree. These masks are the mark of the devil. I remember one time at the dmv, one of the employees told me to put my mask on while slapping me on the back. "I'll wear my mask if you keep your freaking hands off me!" Is what I wish I said.

I didn't like it, BUT I WORE it when I worked in a long-term nursing home. I still carry one just incase I need it, yes do it for others not yourself.

I just don't get the "personal choice" argument. A mask is like a hair net. No one is making you randomly wear at home or in your car, but if there is a chance your hair will fall in someone's soup, you put it on. I also use tissues to blow my nose and bin them, wash my hands after using the toilet, and cough in my sleeve/elbow. Because? Hygiene. It is just hygiene.
