How DEADLY Is The BITE Of The BRAZILIAN WANDERING SPIDER?

WOW! This experience is easily one of my all time favorites I've had the privilege of filming! Wandering spiders are some of the most toxic venomous spiders on earth and have earned quite the reputation as being aggressive and dangerous, but is this actually the case? For the species Phoneutria depilata, this couldn't be further from the truth! These animals are among some of the calmest tropical spiders I've ever encountered and despite a dangerous venom, they seem to have no desire to bite anything other than food. Were you expecting a wandering spider to be so well behaved?

I love watching your channel and Spencer’s as well! I used to hate spiders and watching some tarantula videos with my kids got me interested in them to the point where I got one for us to take care of but I still didn’t like true spiders for some reason. The two of you guys have made me lose my fear of true spiders by showing how gentle and unlikely to bite they all are! Then your videos where you intentionally get bit showed me how even when you do get bit, there’s nothing to really worry about and not to believe the hype! Thanks for what you do man!
