Venomous Snake Bite: What Happens If Left Untreated

preview_player
Показать описание
Once you've been bitten, it only takes a few seconds for the venom to travel from the fangs through your skin and into your bloodstream. You'll notice symptoms right away, and they'll worsen over time. The venom will cause tissue damage and circulatory system failure by damaging blood cells and causing internal hemorrhaging. Rattlesnake venom is mostly a mixture of hemotoxins, which are poisons that disrupt blood vessels and blood-clotting, and neurotoxins, which cause nerve and muscle paralysis. If the wound is not treated, your bodily functions will shut down over the course of three days, and the bite may cause severe organ damage or worse.

Not all venoms are felt immediately. Some they have to wait for symptoms to occur Incase it was a dry bite and if antivenin is administered it could cause major problems for the person. Different bites have different reactions.

Knew a guy who at band practice said he had a couple rattlers in a aquarium mis grabbed one and tried quickly dropping it to his below hand to get a better grip. The baby got one tooth in him, drinking whiskey and started doing jumping Jack's. Yes! He said he almost died, left a knot on his hand that slightly interfered with his guitar playing. Kind of a cool story though for someone who's never actually seen one.

Depends on the type of rattler. Some species can kill in as little as two hours although the damage to the body will be irreversible before then as most have a necrotising component to their venom as well.

Most rattlers will actually have a hemotoxic and neurotoxic venom, with some cytotoxic and necrotising components thrown in for fun. That's important because trying to put a tourniquet on a snakebite with necrotising venom can very well cost you the limb where otherwise you might have kept it. Within 20 minutes for most species of rattler you will be unable to help yourself as you will begin to loose the ability to think clearly, along with your sense of balance, and ability to move easily. Thats not to say you will be helpless. It depends largely on your own weight, health, and the amount of venom injected as well as the species.

The Viperae family have some of the most varied and complex venoms. While the elapidae tend to have quick debilitating venoms. Both Families will permanently damage you at least somewhat. Viperae due to the necrotising, cytotoxic, and hemotoxic components. Elapidae because of their strong necrotoxic venom many of which also have necrotising and cytotoxic components.

Also, many rattlesnakes of the same species will have regional variations in their venom making them harder to treat. A prime example of this is the Timber Rattlesnake (C. horridus) in which 4 different variations of the venom occur within the USA. It is one of the most complex of the rattlers and one of the most dangerous in N. America

But to be fair, rattlers arent that bad compared to some in the Viperae family. Id much rather be bitten by a diamondback then a T. insularis or a Lancehead. But viperae are also known dickheads and that goes double for any of the arboreal species...and lanceheads which are in their own catagory of assholiness.

Just dont fuck about and find out and there wont be any problems. Most people get bitten because they either never notice the snake at all or because they try to move it, often with a stick or some such completely underestimating how quickly they can strike and how far they can tag you.

Rattlesnakes are venomous, but their venom isn’t as dangerous as other snakes . Black Mambas are more venomous and their venom is far deadlier than Rattlesnakes . If you get bitten by one it will damage your lungs and heart and without anti venom a black mamba bite has a fatality rate of 100 % meaning if you don’t get treated you will die in 20 minutes. King Cobras are also more venomous than rattlesnakes and their venom is just as deadly as a Black Mamba’s, if left untreated the King Cobra bite will damage your organs and will kill you in 15 minutes . This makes it scarier than the rattlesnake and is 1st place . For example if you get bitten by a King Cobra at 5 :00 it would take until 5:15 for you to die from the bite 😳. The Black Mambas would take from 5:00 to 5:20 for you to die . While a rattlesnake’s venom can be fatal if left untreated, can means it may or may not be fatal . But still you should get treated
