when I typed lsusb I can see it's there but when I do iw fonfig it's just not there, I'm using virtual box btw

You missed something or set wrong because when you start airodump-ng wlanX you suppose to get a fast list of nearby networks and that adapter has a very long reach, also with a fresh install it shows it's set on 2.412 Ghz and that's usually bad because the driver didn't install as proper dual band adapter, can use commands to scan bands abg and or set a frequancy on it but it's not suppose to be such a problem but there's a reason this adapter is blacklisted by some programs like arigeddon and other very useful tools, I have that Alfa36ach and it's a very annoying card for pentesting

Ive noticed that when using this chipset if you set the channel in say airodump-ng or mdk4 or aireplay-ng or anything else really, it still shows the channel changing and scanning. Even when setting iwconfig wlan0 channel 44 etc and doing an airmon-ng check kill. And hints?

what u explain is easy here is a challenge for you, can you do that on kali linux 2024.1 or 2024.2 i got the same card AWUS036ACH, i doubt it u can fix the driver installation error and put this card AWUS036ACH into monitor mode
