Oh god, this is like a dream come true.

Not many professional YouTubers talk in depth about this topic.
Thanks🖤

If you attach it to a "Small, Parabolic Style Dish", you can actually make it perform like a "directional antenna." If used @ home, you can even use an outdoor style antenna with a repeater every 50 ft. if needed and cover a much broader area for Wi-fi signal's. When I used it as a mobile device for my laptop, I could easily cover 2 plus miles in any direction I pointed my antenna mounted on a tri-pod. A lot of fun!!!!

Just getting started into my journey of getting serious about ethical hacking. Between you and Network Chuck... just a wealth of information!

I specify the Alfa AWUS036NHA for my students so to cut down on the driver headaches for their Kali installs. Personally, I've upped by game to the ACH model to expand into the 5Ghz and AC mode wifi. I'm going to point students to this video to educate them on the ins and outs. Thanks for these videos.

Thank you sir. Great content as always! The best thing about you, as compared to most IT professionals, is your ability to break down things and explain with detailed clarity. I truly appreciate the time and effort (and money) you put in, to help us understand certain IT concepts or topic.

I just found this channel when searching for wifi adapters and i have to say that the creator is amazing at breaking down very complicated concepts into easy to understand principles. I work in the IT Security industry but don't do any pentesting at the moment. But i'm going to subscribe because if the rest of the videos on this channel have this kind of quality content, I'm definately going to stick around to learn the right information.

THANK YOU SO MUCH DAVID! I received my Wi-Fi adapter today. It is an un-branded adapter with Atheros AR 9271 chipset. I bought it for $8 from AliExpress. It works out of the box with Kali Linux.

I was always using an Alfa adapter, which works great. I just ordered a CSL 300Mbit USB WLAN Adapter which is dual band and uses the RT5572 chipset. It only costs $15/13.5€ so I'll tell you if and how it works (out of the box) when it arrives next week. Thank you for the great video!

What I remember about installing the software for ALPHA Network's was to "Install the software 1st!" Thats the most important step towards getting your computer to recognize the new device!

This video is still spot on, new users of Linux(for Kali or parrot) should do whatever they can to have a quick system setup, as nothing will make someone new give up quicker than driver problems in Linux

I have an Alfa and I got it(this will give an idea of how long I've used Linux) when it was one of the few USB wifi adapters that worked without a ton of finding manufacturers drivers, as I remember having to use windows adapters and have them wrapped in such a way to work in *ANY* Linux distro, then the easier to use (n I believe open sourced) USB wifi adapters came out and I immediately got the Alfa, because it was plug n play, it even came with this huge directional antenna (this was when WEP was standard security) and to this day, I still pull it out sometimes as I know it will *JUST* work, no hassle, and it has packet injection, works with airmon, amd that directional antenna has some range between antenna and chip set letting me "urban camo" the antenna as a box, bird feeder, rubbish etc and with a pi 4 w kali, I can keep some distance between me and whatever company has hired me, so I'm not too obvious to spot

It also taught me to hold onto most old hardware n add it to my home lab
IDK if you've a video on it, but I've not seen a good video on setting up a home pentest lab using a older wifi router, a no. WiFi router, raspberry pi 0s(as both with n without vulnerable OSes on them), 3 old phones, a wifi printer, 2 old laptops with windows, old IOT devices etc to make this 2 tiered changeable home lab (that I usually have my wife put passwords on things so I can't cheat)
And that's given me endless hours of experience because I can change it to resemble a corporate/home/super hardened environment easily, and with old hardware or a cheap pi 0/other iot device/old phone added here n there to setup a network I believe using virtual machines can't do proper justice

If you don't have a video on using old pis and other hardware to make a low-cost/free home lab, I'd suggest making one, as I'm always looking to learn more ideas for improvement of my abilities

This is my 1st time here. I just happened to see you based on an interest in computer's and programming. The ALPHA is what I started out with, and still have. What I really love about it is that I can use it as a mobile antenna and not just at home. Mine is the old 2.4 ghtz.

David your a hero, I've had this questions for years and you're the only person on the planet that made this education accessible. You're truly helpful thanks for that!
