How to install Alfa AWUS036ACH, AWUS1900, AWUS036AC on Kali Linux 2020.3 w/ monitor mode & injection

The Alfa AWUS036ACH, AWUS1900, and AWUS036AC can run with monitor mode and injection support on Kali Linux 2020.3. These products use the Realtek RTL8812AU and Realtek RTL8814AU chipsets respectively. But Github changed the driver package on October 9th 2020 with a change description of "Makefile: simplify DKMS install/removal" and so the install process is different than in past versions.

In this video we show how to download and install the driver.

If you are having issues (primarily with Virtualbox installs), see this alternative fix/install method:

Worked like a charm. It was a catch 22. On my laptop Linux was not recognizing my build in Wi-Fi (no built in Ethernet either!) So I had to purchase a Wi-Fi that Linux would recognize to install the Alpha USB. Thank you for the video.

Hi there. This did not work for me. The "make" command immediately comes back with Error 2. Perhaps the file structure has changed since 2020?
/bin/sh: 1: bc: not found
make ARCH=x86_64 CROSS_COMPILE= -C M=/home/kali/Downloads/rt modules
make[1]: *** No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [Makefile:2510: modules] Error 2

Bummer. Followed these instructions, thanks for that btw, but once it’s recognized it doesn’t switch to monitor mode. Airmon-ng says it’s switching but doesn’t display anything. Trying a second time returns a “mode already active on Phy0” error.

I get as far as 'make' it does its thing and gives me the error of:
fatal error: net/ipx.h: No such file or directory
25 | #include <net/ipx.h>

I don't know why, how do I overcome this please?

My TP-Link doesn't need any drivers, it works as soon as i install Kali and plug the wireless adapter, the model is TL-WN722N v1, anyone has any idea how this works?
Also wanted to get an Alpha card Adapter to work on Kali with it sometimes, but really don't like the idea complicating myself with drivers, is it that all Alpha cards need drivers.
