I just want to say thank you for actually showing American cuisine, Foreigners really think we eat straight fast food everyday every meal

I love the Southern series, and every time they try something good, I go: "feed Luke some, feed Luke some" because I just love seeing Luke's reactions.

"Mr. Bean's trendy cousin", "They blew up a cow". Ollie cracks me up so hard every time man. Also I'm so glad you guys liked the red beans and rice! I've been wanting to see you guys try it ever since I found out you were in Louisiana. My grandparents are originally from Louisiana and they'd make that all the time when I was a kid. To this day it's one of my favorite dishes ever.

I love the random passerby customers just watching it live "is it good" "that's a big sandwhich" live chat basically 😂

I'm a Brit living in Canada. I can tell you that in the US, a serving for one will serve three people in England. US service is outstanding too.

"Olive Salad" is what you taste on the Muffuletta. It's a pickled olive and spice mix. Goes great on ANY sandwich if you ask a southerner.

As a New Orleans local, Im insulted by the bread. The quality of bread is the #1 sign of a good Po Boy, and without freshly made bread you might as well just eat the fried shrimp by itself. Also this place is a bit of a tourist spot, if you want the best Po Boy go to Parkway Tavern

I'm glad you liked the red beans. It's interesting b/c if you ask most people what they think of when they hear "southern food" in the U.S., they immediately think of things like bbq, fried chicken, biscuits, etc. but they wouldn't immediately say "beans". But we eat a lot of beans down here too - pinto beans, white beans, lima beans (butterbeans), black-eyed peas (field peas, crowder peas, cowpeas), red beans in Louisiana, black beans in southern FL. We love our beans!

For those who don't know, the boudin balls are balls of boudin filling breaded and deep fried. Traditional boudin is basically seasoned cooked pork mixed with rice, then stuffed into sausage casing. It's pronounced 'BOO-dan' with a silent 'n'.
An old joke is a Cajun 7-course meal is one pound of boudin and a 6-pack of beer. One pound of boudin is usually two links. Cheers from South Louisiana 😊

Thank you reminding me how wonderful it is living in multi ethnic food verse that is America. It touched my heart you came to Philadelphia and ate a Philly cheese steak. We take it for granted that everyone has this diversity of favors and taste. Because I am a African American living in Philly I took for granted everyone got these foods. Since most of our families came up from the South we have the southern at Northern food delights at our fingertips like sweet potato pie, cheese steaks, collard greens as well as many Asian and Latino, Italian Mexican foods a short trip away. Continue to eat well thank you for your witty commentary.

If I may quote my sister to you, Ollie: "Do not chain yourself to dignity."
If the food is good, the food is good, and dignity's got nothing to do with it.

NOLA native here! 😊 If it doesn't drip down your wrist, it isn't a good poboy! The french bread is the best part! That crunchy bread is what brings tears to my eyes!

A fried shrimp po'boy is one of the quintessential New Orleans foods. The muffelata is of Italian origin and was brought to NO by Italian immigrants and is similar to Italian deli sandwiches found in places like New York, New Jersey and Chicago.

I've been enjoying this New Orleans run so much. I'm from Alabama and New Orleans has been my #1 spot to visit ever since I went there as a poorly supervised tween on a summer camp trip. The culture shock of the French Quarter, as someone who'd never traveled, was unreal (and this was only a few years after Katrina). I remember wandering the music-filled, art-covered streets, getting danced with by a stranger outside of Cafe Du Monde, and thinking that it had to be the most beautiful and lively place in America. After working as a long haul trucker all over the States, I can now confidently say that I still think so. The food, the art, the music, the architecture, the VIBES. Everything there is in its own class. I'm leaving the country and New Orleans is the one place I'm really, really gonna get homesick for.

As someone who has lived in southeast Louisiana my entire life, the poboy and other items in this video might not be the most exciting you guys have had on your journey, but they are the most authentic. This is what we eat. Often. Not every single day. But close.

Any American restaurant Josh and Ollie visit, they always have the same response:
"So much spice!" lol

I always enjoy these two Brits (& COMPANY) partaking of AMERICAN COMFORT FOODS .... They are not prepared for this level of cuisine galore. Funny fellows to be sure. GBjj
