To anyone reading this: The first time I took the ACT I got a 22, but last February (fourth time taking it) I managed to get a 32. I raised by ten points and it took about a whole school year, but it is possible. Little tip: Science is the easiest way to improve your score. Improve on it, improve your composite.

Tomorrow's my last chance taking the ACT, trying to raise from a 29 to a 33. Wish me luck!

I noticed most of the ACT test is essentially testing your reading and comprehending skills. My #1 tip for anyone taking the ACT test in the future is to focus on improving your reading speed and comprehension skills.

For number 58, I found a much easier method to be simply making up your own values for the variables and checking with the answer choices. So for example, let's make x=24, which would make t=2, u=4, and y=42. 24-42 = -18. We can then go along the answer choices and plug in our values for t and u and see if it would equal -18. If we use option F, it turns out as 9(2-4) = 9(-2)=-18, which is equal to what we found before. So you can choose option F.

Of course, it's not the pure mathematical way of doing it, but it certainly saves a lot of time. This strategy of making your own values for variables and checking with the answer choices can apply to many different math section questions on the ACT, and is generally very helpful.

Actually, for the first question you do not need to know what a geometric series is because after finding the first term, you know the series is infinite hence the name an infinite geometric series. So it has to be less than 30 otherwise the series would not be infinite being just two terms 170 +30 =200. The only answer less than 30 is 25.5 so it has to be 25.5

As a 50 year old man who never had a real math teacher in his life, I am being forced to learn everything I can about Mathematics before I take the Praxis Core Math Test. Praxis Core and ACT Math are generally the same, though some claim the ACT is more difficult. Anyway, you can imagine the struggle I am having, especially with graphing inequalities, doing inequalities, and inequalities altogether. I can get through the Geometry and Numeration problems, and some statistics, but the graphing is completely new to me, and I don't understand why we have to do that at all.

Finally, I've just received my MA in Special Education, and why I have to learn this stuff is also beyond me. I'll never teach 90% of this to my SPED Students, and why I have to learn it seems ridiculous.. God help me, is all I can say.

I paused the video, read the question, selected my answer without watching you solve AND I GOT IT RIGHT I WAS SO SHOOK (I’m the worst at math) then I tried to do it with second one and I just went blank even after you explained it😭😂

The first question is totally solvable without knowing the geometric series, if the sum in 200 then the 2nd term has to be less than 30 since the first term in 170, which leaves us with the only possible answer, 25.5

I’ve studied for the act soooo much that I am exhausted. All I want is at least a 29 but it almost feels impossible. Won’t give up though.

I’m an 18 year old senior and I’ve taken the ACT 5 times. 😅 in order I’ve made a 17, 17, 18, 17, and 18. It’s really frustrating making the same scores over and over again. Taking it again in April & really hoping for a higher score!

Got a 33 last time...math was the worst for me. Got a 36 in Grammar, 35 in Reading, 31 in Science, and 28 in Math.

I’m hoping I can get a 35 this time...

I'm honestly terrified of the Math and Writing sections. I took the ACT in my sophomore year, when I was 14, and got a perfect score in Reading, a really high score in English, and a good score in Science, but I did terribly on Math and Writing. Hopefully prior experience, more preparation, and your videos can help this time.

I’m able to do these quickly and accurately but only on “good days”. It is almost as if my brain allows me to be a super genius some days and a total idiot on others. I just hope the “super genius” kicks in during the test😄
