Yes makes sense thanks.
I’ve been lassoing the piling and after adjusting each rope I tie off on my boats kleets.

But recently my friend rode with me and said I’m supposed to loop my kleet then tie onto piling.

I always found it easier to loop snuggle on piling then make adjustments and tie off on my kleet.

Making adjustments on my kleet is easier than on the piling. I think.

Am I wrong or is he wrong or is it a matter of preference?

video is ok if you have a short piling. would help to show if it is a tall piling or a rail,

No what if the boat next to yours is already tied on and / or the pole is 6’ higher than you?

Clove hitches are terrible under varying tension (boat rocking up/down, in/out)
