So ridiculously talented. A critical part of The Doors if you listen to their catalog of albums. His parts are the backbone of many songs. Of course all the Doors were just masters of their trade. I met John Densmore at his book signing. I still can't believe I met with one of the Doors !!!! One of my favorite groups !!! That was so amazing. But we will miss you Ray. Your music 🎵 will live on forever.

Ray is probably my favorite rock keyboardist ever. Such an innovative pioneer;; he will be greatly missed.😊

In addition to being a fabulously talented keyboardist, Ray was such a great storyteller. Whenever I listened to his interviews, I became more fascinated. So sad he is no longer with us.

Really miss Ray as he was able to talk about Jim after he died and make you feel a little better. Totally talented with a great voice for our generation.

He also produced the first four albums of the band "X". He even plays keyboards on a few tracks of their debut "Los Angeles". Their cover of "Soul Kitchen" got used on Miami Vice among other places.

Ray, John Lydon (aka Rotten), Richard Carpenter & the David Ruffin Family (Temptations) all asked the same question: "Movie makers - Why make my band mate, family &/or friend a monster in your film?"

The fact they didnt have a bass player contributed to why they didnt play many outdoor shows . Rays bass bounced off the walls to give a good sound, outside, that sound was lost .

Ray Manzarek was a regular customer at my café , Juanita’s on Olvera street . The first time I met him, I asked if it was his first time in my place. He said no, I’ve been here lots of times! I told him he was a legend ! He’s the only celebrity I ever asked for an autograph of the many who have dined at my place, I traded him lunch for it!
