I feel like you can’t say anything bad about Rick Bayless. The man respects the culture the cuisine comes from, and makes dynamite dishes. Dude’s just done a great service to food.

Man when you win an award from Mexico for your cooking? That means your Mexican cuisine is amazing.

The thing about Rick is that he respects the culture, in his videos on YouTube he tells you where he learned or where the people does the style or use of ingredients. Dude know that he loves cooking Mexican food that he respects everyone who taught him, all the people he meets from chefs to home cooks

Honestly, considering how annoying Skip Bayless can be on sports shows, hearing that his brother is a respected, decorated chef is a pleasant surprise and wholesome af.

Anthropological linguistics was the perfect background for his career... understanding the nuance of language and its relationship to the cuisine as a part of culture.

Rick Bayless is a G, I would watch him on PBS late at night back in high school. His passion for Mexican food is incredible

I work with seniors, predominantly white ones who have never left their home state, and one day I went out and got takeout from a local Mexican place. Got carnitas for the entire group and let them try it. It blew their mind. Now we regularly do cooking groups and try our hand at foods from different cultures. Mexican, Japanese, Korean, and even some traditional German and Italian. It's so fun to see older people who think they are set in their ways Open up and try new things

My mom loved that man. She loved how he would go and talk to the actual people and learn the dishes.

I caught him on PBS and made his Chilaquiles from scratch. By far the best non-Mexican chef to prepare Mexican cuisine

As a sports fan, there was nothing that shocked me more than learning Rick and Skip Bayless were related. I ended discovering Rick independently while going down a cooking channel rabbit hole and fell in love with his authentic recipes/wholesome personality. It never even crossed my mind that the two could be related until I saw a picture of them together

My parents were both born in Mexico and they always tuned in to watch his cooking show on PBS. They were always amazed by the care and respect he had for our peoples cuisine and how authentic his dishes are. I can tell you that there are many Mexican chefs in the United States who could not rival the authenticity of his food. He speaks fluent Spanish and not only has a thorough understanding of the culture in history, but also all of the things associated with the dishes that he prepares. If you’re mad because he’s white maybe you should try to do what he does.
