Im kinda sad nobody seems to feel the same, but I think the part they zoom into the Ippo Vs Sawamura poster and Sawamura in his bike showing his inner evil is so fucking cool, the mangaish style in the poster, the lyrics, the way the singer sings them and specially Sawamura in both scenes. everything is so fucking cool.

To everyone that has been touched by hajime no ippo, its atmosphere and aesthetic, this opening is really special:

First, it's Ippo that sings and we see him, standing in front of the doors, just before the fight agaisnt Sawamura.
Then, we have a calm part where we see what Ippo has to fight against : the demon Sawamura
Then, the song start rising progessively as they show all the people that has been really important in Ippo's life.
Finally, the song blows, and Ippo rises against the demon.

And, I didn't even mentionned the power of the lyrics:
Basically, Ippo says that, we are a lot that are lost in our lives. But, if we listen to what's deep in our heart, we will find the purpose of our life. More than that, we will realize that the answer has always been there, in your heart and right in front of your eyes.
So, if you take the first step right now, if you rise, you fly high, you'll be able to see the meteor showers, that is the world that you've always dreamed of.

Personnaly, I started to watch Ippo a few months ago. Thanks to it, and to other things that happenned, I found the purpose of my life (but like seriously).
What's funny is that it was as Ippo said, I realized, that the answer has always been there, and I didn't even knew the meaning of the lyrics at the time.

There is something thats so great about this opening. It just feels so intense and it really sets the tone for that sawamura fight. Ippo almost never disappoints with the OPs

Not gonna lie, this opening brought tears to my eyes the first time i watched it, bc it had been years since we got a new season of Ippo. I'll probably react the same way when we finally get season 4.

At 0:58 I originally thought it was Date behind Ippo, but finishing the season and finally realising it was young Kamogawa all along was mindblowing.

That part where ippo was throwing a right straight then the shadow of young kamogawa appears at ippo's side is a great way to show how the teacher passed down all his experience to his student and how ippo don't betray his teacher's training and showing off proudly what his teacher thought him.
