Fun fact: 1985A Doc Brown was committed because he actually realised that reality shouldn't be this way, and came to believe Biff must've done something to change history. When he tried to do something about it, Biff had him institutionalised to keep him out of the way. Doc is essentially so smart, that even in a world where he never invented the time machine, he still managed to figure out that time had been messed with.

Here's the funny thing: The events Marty McFly did in Back to the Future 1 actually created an alternate reality too. In real history his dad is a pushover and Biff is his boss. Marty's meddling meant his dad knocked out Biff and his marriage with Lorraine and his career turned out differently. Marty therefore returns to an "Alternate 1985" which is alternate to him - but reality for everybody else (including doc Brown who eventually read the mail to prevent the terrorists from killing him).

The difference is that Marty's meddling in the events of 1955 had little effect on 1985 aside from his dad having a career, being happily married, his siblings having career jobs themselves, doc Brown surviving his attackers by having a bullet proof west and the Twin Pine Mall being renamed the Lone Pine Mall (due to Marty knocking down one of the twin pine trees in 1955).

Biff's meddling in 1955 however had serious ramifications for both Hill Valley and the entire United States. All his fortune and "luck" made him a media darling and a "living American legend" which successfully has legalized gambling in the entire USA and seemingly has enough power to own the police and quite likely several politicians. His 1985 is therefore visibly "alternate" whereas Marty's 1985 had minimal impact except for his own family.

That line, "I can't imagine Hell being much worse" sums up my life.

"S.O.B he stole my idea!" I always lose it during that part.

This is why I like Back to the Future 2, I feel like the stakes are higher, both BTTF 1&3 are about getting back to the present or saving someone, in BTTF 2 they created a dark present because of a mistake they made and they need to figure out how to fix it or doom the future.

My favorite scene of all the 3 films - the music, the flawless performance of Lloyd...

I feel like I'm the only person who still likes the linear concept of time travel that this movie series has. I always felt that multiverse theory is just a copout with no real consequences.

(2020: CORONAVIRUS, WW3 & MURDER HORNETS)

Mary: “How could all this be happening? It’s like we’re in hell or something!”
Doc: “No it’s 2020, although I can’t imagine hell being much worse.”

This is my favorite scene in the entire trilogy. Everything is so well done. Perfectly executed.

now we are in an alternate 2020. The pandemic, the riots, the racism, Biff is president...we're in Back To The Future II.

So Richard E. Nixon vowed to end the Vietnam War by 1985 makes me think, "Man, that's the longest war we ever were in."

I don’t know why, but the way Doc says “THIS has happened TO ME” at 3:09 always makes me laugh 😂

I love how Marty and Doc are talking about destroying the DeLorean which
foreshadows to The Deloreans demise at the end of Back to the Future 3

For the kind of careful guy that doc is he was very careless. When you think about, all the problems they faced was because of their carelessness. Leaving Jennifer in the alley, leaving the dolorean behind with the door wide open.

Holy shit! It said on the Emmit Brown commited newspaper that Richard Nixon is seeking a 5th term!! Vietnam is still going on in that reality?! We need some serious explanations here!

This scene is the most dramatic moment of the entire franchise.

I love how Doc is explaining it to Marty but it's the movie's way of explaining it to the viewers as well. The explanation and dialog by Christopher Loyd is done so well and smoothly that its easy for us to understand everything he saying. This trilogy will live forever. ❤

Marty: It's like we're in Hell or something!
Doc: No, it's Hill Valley, although I can't imagine Hell being much worse.

Something else I noticed about this is the time is Sunday October 27 1985 like 1 am, it would’ve rained on the lake date for Jen and Marty
